Stand Strong is a community-based coalition dedicated to preventing underage drinking and drug use among the youth in our community. Stand Strong is compromised of members representing 12 sectors of the community including youth, parents, media, local businesses, law enforcement, health care professionals, local government and school officials, faith-based organizations, civic groups, youth servin
g organizations and other agencies involved in reducing substance abuse. Our coalition serves the youth in the District 125 and sender school areas, including the communities of Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Prairie View and portions of Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Mundelein, Hawthorn Woods, Vernon Hills, Lake Forest, Indian Creek, Wheeling, Lake Zurich, Riverwoods, Kildeer, Palatine, and Mettawa. Currently, Stand Strong is 100% volunteer driven. We have built a strong, committed coalition working hard to engage and educate our community around the issue of preventing alcohol and drug use for our youth. By bringing together all sectors of the community we engage in collaborative dialogue that will have the best chance of bringing about effective change in the norms and policies in our community.
