💔 Sweet Biscuit urgently needs a foster home or forever family! Due to circumstances beyond her current foster’s control, she can no longer stay in her foster home, and we need your help finding her a safe place to land.

Rosie - Senior - Needs Foster home's Story

Rosie is 8 years young and looking for her final home. She first came to us in 2020 and was adopted shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, her adopters' poor health required them to return her to rescue. She is a friendly, outgoing girl, who loves going for walks, and rides well in vehicles. She is housebroken and does not need to be crated when you are gone. She loves playing with the younger male pyrs, especially Huxley. She would be fine as an only dog or with a male dog companion. She is not good with cats, or chickens.

We recommend obedience training for all newly adopted pyrs, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine. Great Pyrenees are willing to learn, but are not as eager to comply with commands as much as other breeds. They are bred to be independent thinkers. Applicants must be over 25, own their own home and all children in household must be over 6 years old.

Thelma - New to Rescue - Foster needed's Story

Thelma and Louise, were spotted in four different counties for over six weeks before they were caught. Unfortunately, they were not reclaimed from the shelter. We believe Thelma is Louise's mom. They are a bonded pair. We hope to find a home for them together. Thelma enjoys going for walks, is good with other dogs, unproven with cats. She looks like a little teddy bear! We estimate that Thelma is four - six years old, but only Thelma knows. She is small in height, but is not a small dog! 🆘🆘🆘🆘 We had a group of 5 folks lined up to work at Lucas Oil stadium for Colts games and concerts this Fall, and two of our volunteers are benched due to injuries.

We need help at 3 events this month- Ed Sheeran on October 11th, Colts game on October 18th, and Usher concert on Halloween. Hours vary, but shifts are 7-8 hours.

If you can help, must have a bartenders license, (available online). Work includes doing inventory - canned and bottled drinks, and snacks, ringing up sales, and checking ids, while working with other pyr lovers. IGPR gets $20 an hour per volunteer and all the tips we earn. If you can help, contact us at [email protected] for additional info!

Join us this Sunday at Bed and Biscuit Kennels for Volunteer Day to work with the dogs for Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue boarding there from 1-3 pm.

New attendees can participate in a short training session on how to handle the dogs. Once you have completed the training you are welcome to come any time the kennel is open.
