Thelma - New to Rescue - Foster needed's Story

Thelma and Louise, were spotted in four different counties for over six weeks before they were caught. Unfortunately, they were not reclaimed from the shelter. We believe Thelma is Louise's mom. They are a bonded pair. We hope to find a home for them together. Thelma enjoys going for walks, is good with other dogs, unproven with cats. She looks like a little teddy bear! We estimate that Thelma is four - six years old, but only Thelma knows. She is small in height, but is not a small dog! We recommend obedience training for all newly adopted pyrs, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine. Great Pyrenees are willing to learn, but are not as eager to comply with commands as much as other breeds. They are bred to be independent thinkers. Applicants must be over 25, own their own home and all children in household must be over 6 years old.

Wayne- Young Adult- Good with other dogs and cats's Story

Wayne was found as a stray and not reclaimed. He was very shy at first, but has done a great job warming up and enjoys going for walks. He gets along well with other dogs, and is fine with cats too. Wayne would do great with another dog or more as a companion. He is neutered and waiting for his forever home. We estimate he is about 2 years old. We recommend obedience training for all newly adopted pyrs, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine. Great Pyrenees are willing to learn, but are not as eager to comply with commands as much as other breeds. They are bred to be independent thinkers. Applicants must be over 25, own their own home and all children in household must be over 6 years old. Your resident pets must be up to date on vaccines, sterilized, you must have a good history of vet care for them for the past two years, and you must have used heartworm preventative year round for your dogs and be able to provide proof of purchase.

Apollo - Beautiful Boy - Foster Needed's Story

Apollo was found as a stray and not reclaimed from a shelter. He is a very friendly boy, who enjoys the company of other dogs. He is friendly with people and enjoys attention. We estimate he between 2- 3 years old. He rides fine in a vehicle and will need some basic leash training. Apollo is a pure bred Great Pyrenees. He is not good with small children in a home, and can be protective of his home when strangers are visiting. He has no problem with kids when out in public. This can be easily solved by crating him and giving him a treat filled kong to keep him busy.

Bruce - Young Male Pyr Mix - Needs Foster's Story

Emergency Foster Needed!!!! Bruce was found as a young pup walking down a rural road. We estimate he was born in Mid June 2024. He was not reclaimed from the shelter and came to us the end of August 2024 and was adopted shortly after that. He is crate trained and housebroken. take this beautiful guy who will work with him on his food protectiveness. Bruce completed an initial training program. However, we require obedience training for all newly adopted pyrs less than a year old, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine. Great Pyrenees are willing to learn, but are not as eager to comply with commands as much as other breeds. They are bred to be independent thinkers. Applicants must be over 25, own their own home and we recommend an adult only household for Bruce.

Harvey - 8 months old - New to Rescue - Fostered Needed's Story

Harvey was found as a stray and not reclaimed from the shelter. We estimate he was born in January 2026. He is a beautiful boy who is very gentle and eager to please. He gets along well with other dogs, and is friendly with all people. He most likely was a farm dog who was not contained, because when he came into rescue he smelled like a barn. We recquire obedience training for all newly adopted pyrs, to help you create a special bond with you and your new friend, and so you have a well behaved canine.
