September 8th will be our semi-annual Roadside Clean-up of E Creek Road next to the Fly Fishing Area of Little Mahoning.

We will start with a brief meeting at 5:00 pm in the parking lot of the Presbyterian Church at Rochester Mills.

After the meeting, the chapter will provide a cookout meal of brats, hot dogs,salads, cookies,snacks and refreshments to all attendees before starting the roadside clean-up.

If possible, please respond to this email if you are planning to attend so we can ensure we have the proper amount of food and supplies.

“LEARN TO FLY FISH”

What: “Introduction to Fly Fishing”
Who: Sponsored by Ken Sink Chapter of Trout Unlimited and DCNR
Where: Keystone State Park
When: Saturday, August 29th from 9 am until 3pm

Admission is free. Children must be minimum 12 yrs old and accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

This one day course will be taught by a PFBC certified fly fishing instructor. It will provide basic instruction on fly fishing equipment, selection and use; knot tying; basic entomology and artificial fly types. After lunch there will be fly casting instruction and a fishing session on the lakeshore.

Our final meeting until fall will be Wednesday, May 13th at 6:00 pm (Note: the day has been changed to Wednesday). We will be doing our annual macroinvertebrate survey of Little Mahoning Creek and Cessna Run. We will meet at the Grist Mill Stone on E. Creek Road next to the Little Mahoning Fly Project.
