We’re excited to announce that on Sunday, May 17th we’re hosting our inaugural Run for Big Things 5K. The race will help us fundraise for our upcoming year. It will be held at Bluemont Park in Arlington, VA. The full details and registration page will be available soon. We’re currently looking for community partners to help sponsor the event. Please reach out if you’d like to help with this fun community event and help us continue making a positive impact in the community.

This week we were in Independence, Missouri for the National Silver Gloves Tournament. Andrea lost her first match via split decision. It was a competitive match despite Andrea having less experience. This was her first time attending a national tournament and started competing just 6 months ago. She left inspired and ready to get back into the ring soon. Andrea worked really hard leading up to this including selling tamales to partially pay for her trip. This week she also turns 14 years old. She has a lot to celebrate and look forward to. Keep making us proud! ✨

Our student Andrea has a story on that follows her through her first amateur boxing competition. We’re so proud of her! It takes guts to step into the ring and compete. Very few reach that goal and Andrea is the first girl in the 5 years of our program to do it.

This morning our team ran our latest 5K race. We had the first place male and female runner overall. Plus top place runners in our age groups. We also set a few new personal best times. 🏅🙌
