Pack 4228 is a Cub Scout Pack within the Heart of America Council and Blue Elk District of Scouts BSA. The group meets Monday nights from September through May from 6:30-8pm at Christ United Methodist Church located at 14506 E. 39th St South Independence, MO 64055. Den Grade Levels:
Lions: 6 years of age or Kindergarten
Tigers: 7 years of age or 1st grade
Wolves: 2nd grade
Bears: 3rd grade
Webelos: 4th grade
Arrow of Light - 5th grade. Weekly Den Meetings (ALL Dens):
Location: Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 (Basement - a.k.a “The Place”)
Time: Mondays at 6:30 pm beginning on September 13
Opportunity: Den level activities where scouts learn life skills and have fun with their peer group
Exceptions: Dens will NOT meet if the Independence School District is closed for holidays or snow days. Occasionally, dens may schedule off-site visits, such as hiking, fishing, camping, etc, related to specific adventure requirements. These “field trips” will typically be scheduled in consultation with den parents. Monthly Pack Meetings:
Location: Christ United Methodist Church (Basement - a.k.a “The Place”)
Time: Designated on Pack Calendar, typically will occur once a month on a Monday @ 6:30 PM (Replaces a Den Meeting)
Opportunity: Entire Pack meets as a group. Scouts are recognized and awarded for their accomplishments. Usually each Pack Meeting will have a theme and related fun activities (i.e. Halloween, Christmas, etc)
Exceptions: Pack will NOT meet if the Independence School District is closed for holidays or snow days. Monthly Pack Committee Meetings (For Adults):
Location: Online Video Conference (Zoom, Google Meet, etc)
Time: Generally, the 1st Tuesday after the first Thursday of each month @ 7:00 PM
Opportunity: The Pack Committee is led by registered adult leaders but open to all parents, providing the necessary leadership required to formally make a pack function. There are specific committee positions that are required to have a chartered Pack. Committee and Den Leadership along with parents attend these meeting to assist in the planning and leadership of the Pack. The quality of the program is a direct reflection of the participation and leadership of all parents. Communication:
