🌊 A Lake Sinissippi Kind of Story

“Saturday, August 8, 2026 was a beautiful day. My husband Don and I decided to go to our Sinissippi lake cabin for a pontoon ride. We headed out in our boat along the Lake Drive shoreline.
Within minutes, our boat began sputtering and the engine died. We weren’t stranded far from our cabin, but at the time it felt like we were miles away. Initially, no other people or boats were spotted.
As we discussed what to do next, with me panicking just a bit, two jet skiers were nearby. We flagged them down, and they were more than willing to assist us.
John returned home to get his pontoon to tow us back to our cabin. While waiting for the tow, a woman walked down to her pier to see if we needed help. She waited on her pier until help arrived. A man called down from his deck to see if we were okay.
Within 15 minutes, John returned in his pontoon and towed us back to our cabin. Our new neighbor, who moved into his cabin just weeks before, helped Don position our pontoon onto our lift. A few days later, Steve, who has a nearby cabin, towed our boat to the launch so we could take it in for repairs.
Don and I were amazed at all of the help we received. Fortunately, our boat has been repaired and is running great once again.
