Rev. Susan Slade

My name is Susan Slade I was born to be a warrior for Christ! I was born ten weeks premature in 1966. My Heavenly Father saved me from certain death twice at birth. His divine interventions became necessary due to oxygen deprivation, which caused extensive medical conditions. I was born weighing 3.8 pounds at birth, however quickly lost weight down to 2.13 pounds. My Grandmother had to begin to ma

ke clothes for me designed from doll clothing because in 1966, preemie birth clothes simply did not exist. Little did I know every step from my education to my ordination was going to present obstacles and challenges to make or break my calling. I have cerebral palsy but this physical disability does not confine or define who I am or what I am willing to do for my Lord. Education was the first vehicle in which God revealed that in Him, anything was possible. Through God’s direction, doors continually open to allow His calling to be manifest. The first obstacle that God removed was the right to attend classes that were not special education classes. I submitted to a battery of tests. I passed with excellence, earning the privilege to attend class with everyone else. After completing elementary school at Wilshire Elementary, I spent the next eight and one half years in boarding schools with educational and physical therapy programs miles away from family. It was both a sacrifice and a blessing. God’s calling to education did not stop at elementary school though as God’s journey took me through Junior High and High School, finishing with the receiving of my G.E.D. Then an acceptance letter came from Oral Roberts University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Bible with Minors in Modern Hebrew and Pastoral Counseling. God’s Finishing Touch is my Master of Arts degree in Biblical Literature. Eight blessed years of intensive preparation for His ministry assignment and calling. Ordination into ministry took another 14 years as God prepared the fields for His ministry through me. It blesses me to be in the image and constant service of our God who underscores the limitless capacity of mere stones through willful submission transform into His Precious Jewels born of prayers, biblical studies and meditations in the Lord. Jesus Calls Himself Cornerstone of the church standing as the One that holds it together Isaiah Ch.28; 16 and (1Peter2; 16 God’s son was the Father's most precious treasure. He delighted in sending this precious Jewel to redeem the world.
