Our hearts are broken by the passing of Corey Yates, who served with us since 2012 as an EMT, taking care of countless patients and our communities.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Emily, who is also an avid public servant and fellow first responder as a Flight Nurse.

Corey's memory will certainly be a blessing 💚

Congratulations to Paramedic Vance Currier on being part of the inagrual NYS EMS year-long Mental Health Resilience Officer Fellowship, graduating yesterday during the NYS EMS Mental Health Symposium! 👏🏼

This new fellowship gives EMS Clinicians like Vance the training and knowledge to help enhance opportunity's for wellness and resiliency in EMS! 🚑

We are proud of Vance and excited for the positive changes we know he'll make to Greenport Rescue and the EMS profession!

Did you know, we assist patients who need medical transport by medical helicopter from our stations helipad or by medical plane from the Columbia County Airport? 🚁

Air medical provides a critical care level of services and also provides very timely transfers to longer distance areas such as Westchester, Syracuse, NYC and Boston. 🛩️

We are fortunate to partner with air medical services to help improve patient outcomes! 💙

Did you know when our local fire departments are battling a fire, we dedicate an ambulance and EMT/Paramedic to the scene?

We provide:

✳️ Refreshments for hydration
✳️ Vital signs to monitor health
✳️ Supplemental oxygen for pets
✳️ We carry a medication, CyanoKit, that's $1,800 per dose, for anyone who may have been exposed to cyanide during a fire
✳️ On warm days, we offer misting fans to help cool down and reduce overheating
✳️ If someone needs to be treated and transported to the hospital, EMS on scene will triage and arrange another EMS unit to the scene

We are always here for our local firefighters and fire departments as well as neighbors experiencing these types of tragedies.

We finished out EMS Week with our EMS Family & Friends BBQ 💚

It was truly wonderful to have teammates bring their loved ones to see what they do everyday, along with catered lunch from 'Good Eats Catering by Tine & Tim' that was delicious, pony rides by Paramedic Ayere M., make your own ice cream sundaes from Stewart's, and celebrated EMT Sarah J.'s birthday!

A special table was made to have Johnny Riscavage's memory be present with us, as well as a very special proclamation from the NYS Assembly presented to Johnny's wife and family 💙

Most of all, some quality time spent with everyone smiling, laughing, and meeting new faces!

Special shout out to Community Outreach Coordinaor Olivia K., Paramedic Supervisors Dylan G. and Sean J., Parameic Ayere M. and EMT Monica K. for all they did to make this years BBQ very special for all who attended!
