The Splash Ball Showdown was an idea I came up with in 2019. The purpose was twofold: to give the community something fun to do and bring us together as one, and to raise money for graduating seniors from Hudson High—helping provide some financial support as they begin their college journeys.
I was just 19 when I first embarked on organizing this event. Looking back over the past six years, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. There have been countless ups and downs, sleepless nights, and lessons learned. Organizing a kickball tournament involves much more than gathering people to play—it requires meticulous planning and dedication. To everyone who supported, participated, or simply offered a kind word when I needed it most: thank you.
Huge shoutout to Kristen Zanotelli of KNZ Visuals —from the very beginning, she’s been all in, capturing every moment with beautiful photos and videos that truly told the story of Splash Ball. And much love to DJ Varr for always bringing the energy and keeping the vibes right every single time.
Thank you also to Hudson City School District, Spark of Hudson, Galvan Foundation, Kite’s Nest, Ginsberg’s, Lemonade Heads, the Hudson Youth Center, and SM Bounce Rentals, and all the businesses that contributed and helped make this all happen.
As for now, Splash Ball Showdown is coming to a close. I’m not saying I’ll never host an event again—but I’m taking some time to focus on myself and explore new opportunities I’ve set out for myself.
Hudson will always be home to me, and I look forward to finding new ways to give back and continue making a difference in this community I am grateful for.
