We’re also building our volunteer list for the remainder of the season and would love help from responsible teens and adults. Opportunities include:

Pictures that were originally scheduled for tomorrow, January 25, will be rescheduled. We will send out a new link for time sign ups early this coming week.

❄️All January 24th games will be rescheduled.❄️

Due to the potential for winter weather, we are proactively rescheduling all games that were scheduled to take place this weekend to prioritize the safety of our athletes, coaches, refs, and families. Once rescheduling has been sorted through, coaches will be updated and information will be distributed out to parents. Thank you for your patience and partnership.

Update from the high school regarding youth night!

📣Game Schedule Update📣

Due to expected inclement weather later this week, we have made schedule changes for this Friday's basketball games.

Varsity Games at home vs Sanger originally scheduled for Friday, the 23rd, will be moved to Thursday, the 22nd.

Girls Varsity 5:00PM - Arena
Boys Varsity 6:15PM - Arena

JV and freshman games are cancelled.

Due to these changes, we will be cancelling youth night as well.

Thank you for your flexibility and support. We look forward to seeing everyone at the games Thursday!

📸Picture days are upon us!

Coaches are selecting the best day and time for their teams and will get that info out to parents.

A few important notes to help your photo day run smoothly:

💙ALL PICTURES WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE VA JUNIOR HIGH GYM.💙

Day and time: TBD by each individual coach but will either be on Sunday, January 25 or Sunday, February 1st between 8am and 6pm.

Please plan to arrive 10 -15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. There will be a sign in table at the front and our team will direct you from there.

Only one team will be on the court at a time, with the next team lined up and ready to go.

Parents will be asked to watch through the gym windows. This helps keep athletes focused and keeps the schedule on track.

Parents can expect to see 2 to 5 individual images of their athlete plus one team photo.

If families have siblings playing, I am happy to include a sibling photo as well. It is very helpful to know ahead of time. Parents can email me with their name and team information so we can plan accordingly.

All ordering is online only. There will be no paper order forms to fill out on photo day.

The photo gallery link will be shared within one week of the session to the email that parents have on file with VASA.

Print orders will ship free directly to the coach approximately two weeks after ordering opens. Orders are shipped together as one delivery, not individually.

VAHS YOUTH NIGHT 2026!!

All K-8th grade Panther basketball athletes are invited to be recognized prior to each of the Varsity games on January 23rd against Sanger. The varsity girls game is scheduled to begin at 6:15pm. Girls teams will meet in the hallway located behind the arena no later than 6:00pm. Boys teams will meet in the same hallway no later than 7:15pm.

All VASA athletes must be escorted by a coach or parent at all times, and must wear their Panther basketball jersey for free entry! Once recognized, all students must return to the stands and sit with parents. Last year, we had multiple things broken, due to lack of supervision by parents.

Individual & team pictures will be on January 25th & February 1st at the Van Alstyne Junior High main gym. 📸

Teams will be assigned a specific day - once your date is determined, your coach will distribute that information to you.

Be on the lookout for more info to be posted here regarding method of ordering/paying in the upcoming weeks.

Basketball jerseys have been distributed to most coaches by now.

Parents - if your child is needing a larger or smaller size, please send that info to your child’s coach asap so that we can get replacements ordered and in by your next game.

UNIFORMS ARE IN! And looking sharp like the Varsity!

We are working on getting them separated by teams this evening.

Coaches, be on the look out for an email in the next couple of days with day/time options and locations for pick up before the holidays.
