Today, we were honored by a surprise visit from retired Deputy Chief Teddy Goldfarb at Engine 246 and Ladder 169. Chief Goldfarb stopped by to spend time with members, share stories, and reflect on the traditions, dedication, and brotherhood that have helped shape generations of firefighters.

It was a privilege to welcome a respected leader whose service and commitment continue to inspire members both active and retired. Thank you, Chief Goldfarb, for taking the time to visit and for your many years of service to the FDNY and our fire service family.

What an incredible day at the Salute to Israel Day Parade!

The FDNY Ner Tamid Society was proud to march alongside thousands of supporters celebrating the enduring bond between New York and Israel. We were honored by the tremendous turnout, the enthusiastic support along the parade route, and the opportunity to showcase our society’s rich history and commitment to community.

Thank you to everyone who marched with us, cheered us on, helped organize the day, and demonstrated the spirit of unity that made this event such a success. Events like these remind us of the strength that comes from standing together and celebrating our shared values.

Tonight, the FDNY Ner Tamid Society, alongside our leadership, supporters, and friends, comes together to celebrate 100 years of faith, service, sacrifice, and brotherhood.

This Centennial Gala is more than a celebration—it is an opportunity to honor those who helped shape our organization into what it is today and to recognize the generations of firefighters and members who carried our mission forward with pride.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11th, we will also solemnly remember three of our members who made the ultimate sacrifice while operating at the World Trade Center. Their courage, heroism, and devotion to duty must never be forgotten.

We have a responsibility to continue telling their stories, saying their names, and ensuring their legacy lives on for future generations.

Tonight, we honor the past, celebrate the present, and strengthen the future.

Join us for the FDNY Ner Tamid Society Centennial Gala as we honor 100 years of service to New York City and recognize the firefighters, chiefs, chaplains, and community leaders who carried this legacy forward generation after generation.

From 1926 to 2026, the flame continues to burn bright.

As we prepare to celebrate 100 years of the FDNY Ner Tamid Society, we also pause to honor the heroes whose sacrifice and legacy continue to inspire generations.

At our Centennial Gala, we will proudly pay tribute to Firefighter Steven Elliot Belson, who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, while serving with courage, honor, and unwavering dedication to his brothers, his city, and his faith.

This moving tribute, dedicated by the members of Engine 1 and Ladder 24, reminds us that the strength of the FDNY family lives not only in service, but in remembrance.
