GallopNYC brings the proven benefits of therapeutic horsemanship to children and adults with disabilities in NYC. Therapeutic horseback riding provides measurable benefits for people with developmental, emotional, social, and physical challenges. Through weekly riding sessions with PATH-certified instructors, we help riders walk, talk and learn, inspiring each one to live life as fully, productive

We are proud to partner with Win this summer to provide a transformative camp experience for children living in temporary or supportive housing in NYC. Win does incredible work providing safe housing and critical services to help families break the cycle of homelessness.

Last week was packed with horseback riding, horse education, mindfulness exercises, arts & crafts, nature walks, and plenty of sprinkler fun! These amazing campers formed deep bonds with their horses and after an impactful week they didn’t want to leave! We were lucky to create lasting memories for our campers, counselors, horses, and volunteers. ✨🐴

Our dedicated staff and volunteers took the field and were recognized during the game for GallopNYC’s notable contributions to the greater NYC community. Exciting news to share! Brownie, Grace, and Misty have all been retired to an unbelievably lovely home in upstate New York 🥹 After an extensive screening process, we’re thrilled the three of them get to stay together with a family who has plenty of experience caring for older horses. The trio will receive so much love from their new family (and their 12 grandchildren!)

These three beloved members of our herd have contributed so much to our programming. Whether it was a child’s first independent ride on Grace, a veteran grooming (and singing) to Misty in the cross ties, or learning to canter on Brownie, they were often the heart of these momentous milestones. All three had a trusting and nurturing spirit that allowed our participants to grow in confidence. While we will miss them dearly, we’re overjoyed they have found such an incredible home for their next chapter.

Many of you have probably already met Sienna, she has integrated into our lessons seamlessly! 🐴✨ Sienna’s registered name is Betcha She’s Got It, and she even spent her previous life competing in a handful of Western shows. With her kind eyes and sweet personality, she immediately draws people in wherever she goes 💛
