NRNA USA Partners with Federation of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal in America - FIPNA and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for Mental Health First Aid Training. Today, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) USA, in collaboration with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, hosted an impactful 8-hour Mental Health First Aid Training session. This initiative aims to equip community members with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify and respond to mental health challenges, ensuring that individuals in need receive the proper support.Participants were trained in how to recognize signs of mental health crises, provide initial support, and connect individuals to appropriate resources. This training is part of NRNA USA's ongoing commitment to mental well-being, aiming to build stronger, more supportive communities both within the Nepali diaspora and beyond. The event was an important step in breaking down mental health stigma and empowering individuals to act as first responders in times of mental health distress. The NRNA USA and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene look forward to continuing their collaboration to promote mental wellness within the community.
