We are proud to announce that we are finally jumping into the golf scene and hosting our very first golf tournament that will directly benefit the work we do in the community! We also want to support the youth and part of our proceeds will go into scholarships for high school or college students. We are looking for golfers of any level to come out and have some fun, compete, and take a "Swing For The Community". This is a great opportunity to advertise your business to a variety of golfers from all types of sectors. We plan to make it fun out there with a live DJ between hole 18 and 1, putting contest, a golf ball air cannon on our long par 5 (589 yds) and other activities on the course to win more prizes! Come get breakfast, network, then golf and finish the day with a savory Southern Cajun dinner inside the clubhouse where we give out awards to all the winners! We will raffle off a brand new driver and other goodies. Any support is greatly appreciated, whether it be a hole sponsor, 4some team, to high level sponsorship, it will all go towards the work we do in serving the community for over 30 years!

Come play one of the longest courses in the Houston area at Sterling Country Club on Monday, November 9th!

Take a listen to our hype song for the golf tournament to hype you up before looking at our sponsor packet!

Today, one of our valued guests, Latasha Turner, stopped in to get her taxes done with Vien Nguyen through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. She shared with us such a heartfelt story. When she finished her case with Mr. Vien, she mentioned that VN TeamWork has been a vital part and step in her life as she is going from homeless to a home owner. She would be the first in her family tree to go and own a home. In order to do this, her loan officer and real estate agent were working closely with Vien, her tax preparer, to get the necessary documents needed for the loan to be approved. Going from sleeping in her vehicle to getting into her first home was very emotional. We are extremely proud and happy for Latasha in her next step in life. She is the very meaning why we do what we do. This is what serving the community looks like. It's about making change and in this case, we were able to be a small part in someone's big change! Congratulations Latasha Turner! And thank you for choosing us to help!

Last month on April 26th, we hosted an amazing outreach/townhall event at the beautiful Alief Neighborhood Center. In partnership with Harris County, Children at Risk, and County Commissioner Lesley Briones, Pct. 4, we promoted a historic, community-led initiative that pours $1.75M into improving the quality of care within child care deserts in the Southwest Harris County Precinct 4 region, called Early Learning Quality Network (ELQN). VNTW is aiming to service Alief, Sharpstown, Gulfton, Braeburn, and Westwood. So many community members from children, parents, to child care providers came out to learn about the program and how people, like them, chose what to do with the funding. The event was jam packed with information and FUN! As parents earned free toys and goodies, the kids were having a blast with bounce house, face painters, magicians, photo booth, and DJ! We were honored to have County Commissioner Lesley Briones and her office come to support the event and guest speaker, Chief of Staff For Commissioner Briones, Alice Lee speak to the community members. If you are a parent or provider of kids 0-8 years old, we strongly suggest you click on the link below to sign up for the ELQN newsletter to get up to date information as the program has already begun to roll out!

ATTENTION: ANYONE RELATED TO EARLY LEARNING CHILD CARE/DAYCARE (ages 0-8)! Resources and funding are available for you if you live in Harris County!!!

Early child care is a vital part to the development of our youth and Harris County realizes this and wants to provide aid. Harris County has a large amount of resources for early learning child care (ages 0-5) and we need to hear from the community in order to advise the county on where to send those resources. Whether you are a child care provider (center-based or home-based), parent/guardian with a child(ren) in child care (age 0-5) or a parent with a child (5-8 years old) that has experienced child care age 0-5, and/or any other stakeholders in this community (such as nannies, religious centers, afterschool programs, community centers, family members, relatives, friends, neighbors that give care to 0-5 yrs old, etc), the county needs to hear from YOU. If you know someone that will benefit from these resources, please share this post to them.

We need early learning child care stakeholders to take a short 5min survey (provided in the QR code and/or link below). Just taking the quick survey gives us a chance to show our appreciation for your time and each survey is automatically entered into a raffle where we will choose 2 lucky winners to win $250! We will announce winners around April. The survey is the first step for us to gather valuable feedback from various members of the child care community and create focus groups that will eventually narrow down to advisory committees that advise the county on how to distribute these resources/funding.

Please use the below link and/or QR code to get to the short survey. Don't forget to spread the word and share to anyone you know in Harris County so they can also enter for a chance to win!
