Katy Community - your meals are in Haiti!

We are honored to share pictures of your food being distributed in Haiti and the impact they are having in the town of Bayonnais.

Living conditions in Haiti continue to be fraught with violence, fear and upheaval. The gang activity has spread over the past couple of years from Port au Prince (in the south) to the north. Our partner is a pastor who has established a school attended by over a thousand children, in addition to shepherding his church. An outbreak of gang violence is now threatening the community with loss of life, restricted movement and refugees arriving with no resources seeking safety. He recently reported the following:

"For the last several weeks, poor civilians in the region of La Croix have been facing really hardships from armed Gangs who have been fighting against the police force.

Lots of innocent civilians have lost their lives from drones dropped and thousands of those innocent civilians have been spread everywhere trying to save their lives and their loved ones' lives.

Many have come here with empty hands to reside while things had not been that great food wise for Bayonnaisians.

Those victims who are here with us who have no food, no clothes and no necessary means to live by."

Your meals are meeting a vital immediate need for these refugee families. They are being distributed through the church as the congregation comes alongside these families to feed their spiritual as well as physical hunger.

Thank you for providing more than a meal to the Haitian people. We are grateful for your partnership.

10,080 meals for Mexico and beyond along with packing 1440 hygiene kits.

Katy Community!

We are excited to share pictures we have just received from our partner in South Africa. Your meals were distributed in the Bonela community through a partnering local church.

This church started in 2016 with 10 people, a tent and a heart to serve the impoverished community of Bonela. The needs are great as unemployment is 50%, many households are led by widows or teens with no parent in the home and abuse/addiction is rampant. They began to make relationships by serving sandwiches from their tent. Meeting the physical needs of the community allowed them to build trust and they were able to spread the hope of the gospel.

The church has now grown to 160 members, and their commitment to loving people through feeding physical hunger is a hallmark of their congregation. They serve a breakfast meal every Sunday morning before service and send the neediest home with a bag of food after service. They deliver boxes monthly to widows. They regularly visit homes that are in need of physical assistance and share the love of Christ.

Thank you for feeding the physical and spiritual hunger of this hurting community. We are grateful for your partnership.
