Meet some of the real MVP’s of the Greater Houston Region-our Young Life volunteer leaders! 🏆
We couldn’t do this without you!
Genevieve (on left) makes any YoungLives teenage mother feel welcomed and at ease and she talks to them. She takes genuine interest in their lives and their kids’ lives. She remembers the little things, asks thoughtful questions, and makes each mom feel like she matters. Her warmth and consistency help create a space where our YLVS friends can feel safe, supported, and truly loved!

Daijah is a rising senior at Rice who relentlessly pursues people. She is the kind of leader people naturally want to follow because she brings both wisdom and compassion into every situation. Her creativity and vision for finding new ways to reach and pursue students is incredibly inspiring.
One of the many ways Daijah has lived this out is through an idea she created: an open mic night at a local coffee shop. What started as a creative idea became a space where college students could gather, build community, and share their own talents and creativity, all while creating an opportunity for meaningful relationships to form.
What is most encouraging about Daijah, though, is seeing how much she has grown. She once didn’t fully understand what it meant to give her life away for the sake of others, and now, it has become second nature to her. She continually looks for ways to love, pursue, and invest her peers around her. Watching Daijah live this out at Rice has been a beautiful picture of a leader who is learning to give her life away, and inviting others to do the same.
