The Amelia County Christmas Parents program sends a HUGE thank you to Collins and Lottie for their extremely generous donations to our program!

These lovely ladies each dedicated a day to host a lemonade stand to benefit our small town program.

Collins and Lottie, you ladies are awesome! We cannot thank you, and all of your supporters, enough!

ANNOUNCING THE 2026 CHRISTMAS MOTHER

Robin Gary!

In addition to several nominations through email and Facebook, we asked Ms. Gary to give us some additional information about herself:

What does Amelia mean to you?
Upon graduating from VCU with a degree in Health and Physical Education I began the search for my first full time job. I received a call from a friend who told me about an opening in Amelia and that I should apply. My initial response was “Where is Amelia?”. At the encouragement of my parents I followed up and decided to apply. A few days later I received a call to come for an interview on the following Monday. Over that weekend my father and I made the 45 minute drive to Amelia to check things out. Fast forward to Monday I interviewed and not long after was offered the job. I had my reservations and told my parents if I took the job there was “no way I was staying there for more than a year.” The rest is history. I fell in love with everything about Amelia and 30 years later here I am.

Do you have any special Christmas traditions?
Spending time with family and celebrating the birth of Jesus are by far my most favorite part of Christmas. I also love to give gifts … and seeing the faces of people as they open gifts is very special to me.

What is your favorite holiday memory?

One of my favorites has to be when my sister and I surprised my dad and my niece and nephew with a trip to Disneyworld as their Christmas gift.

What does being the Christmas Parent (Father/Mother) mean to you?

There are no words to express how honored I am to be named the Christmas Mother for this year. I look forward to helping make Christmas for the Amelia Community a memorable one.

What would you like to see in this year's Christmas Parents program?
I challenge fellow educators to become involved in the Christmas parents program this year. I would like to see the number of volunteers reach new heights!
