Charlotte County 4-H Visits Bacon Elementary for Apple Day!

Charlotte County 4-H had a wonderful time visiting Bacon Elementary for a day filled with apples, trees, and hands-on activities!

Students explored how apples grow from seeds and created their own seed pouches using apple seeds to take home. They also made fun sprout crafts with pipe cleaners and got to enjoy a taste of apples! 🍎

The students also explored the world of trees by discovering how to determine a tree’s age, comparing trees of different sizes, and talking about the differences between single-trunk and multiple-trunk trees. 🌳

A big thank you to Bacon Elementary for welcoming Charlotte County 4-H and giving us the opportunity to spend the day with your students! Also, a special thanks to 4-H Volunteer, Theresa Boettcher Hall, and Prince Edward 4-H Agent Jake Morgan

We look forward to continuing our partnerships with local schools and bringing more hands-on activities and experiences to Charlotte County youth!

Do you know a Charlotte County youth ages 5 -18 who loves horses, wants to learn new skills, and is interested in being part of a fun and supportive group?

Join us for a 4-H Horse Club Open House!

The Charlotte County 4-H Horse Club offers youth the opportunity to:

• Learn about horse care, management, and safety
• Develop horsemanship and equine knowledge
• Participate in hands-on educational activities
• Build leadership, responsibility, and teamwork skills
• Meet other youth who share an interest in horses
• Participate in 4-H events, clinics, shows, and competitions
• Gain confidence through learning and personal growth
• Have fun while making new friends

Whether youth own a horse, lease a horse, or simply have an interest in learning more about horses, all experience levels are welcome.

Come meet club members, learn about upcoming activities, and discover how 4-H can help youth grow through equine education and leadership opportunities.

🍎 Apple Day at Phenix Elementary! 🍎

Charlotte County 4-H partnered with Phenix Elementary to bring Apple Day to their students!

Students learned about the process of growing apples from seeds and created their own seed pouches using apple seeds to take home. They also made their own sprout crafts using pipe cleaners and got to taste apples!

Do you know a Charlotte County teen ages 14–18 who wants to build leadership skills, get more involved in their community, and have a bigger role in 4-H?

We're having a 4-H Teen Leadership Club Interest Meeting!

The Teen Leadership Club will give teens an opportunity to:
• Build leadership and communication skills
• Take on leadership roles
• Participate in community service
• Help plan 4-H events and activities
• Develop teamwork, public speaking, and career skills
• Build confidence and friendships
• Help create opportunities for other 4-H youth

This is a pilot group, so we're looking for interested teens who want to help shape what this club becomes. If we have enough interest, we will move forward with officially chartering the group as a 4-H club.

Have a voice. Make a difference. Lead the way.

School, sports, jobs, and other activities can make scheduling difficult, so we'll also talk with the group about the best time for regular meetings. Weekends are an option!
