Amelia County, VA 4-H Amelia 4-H is a youth organization promoting positive youth development in Amelia County, Virginia.

Youth ages 5-18 can be involved in a variety of clubs residential camps and we hope to be able to offer after school programs, school enrichment, workshops, and day camps in the near future.

Virginia Cooperative Extension presents a free β€œWalk & Talk: Trees” educational program.

Join Jason Fisher, District Extension Agent for Forestry and Natural Resources, for a guided 1.5-mile walk along the Wilson Trail at Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Virginia. Participants will learn tree identification techniques, explore native tree species and their habitats, discuss forest ecology and environmental stewardship, and gain a greater appreciation for Southside Virginia woodlands.

Date and Time: July 13, 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Location: Wilson Trail, Hampden-Sydney College, Farmville, VA 23901.

Participants are encouraged to bring walking shoes, water, and binoculars if available.

Walk & Talk: Birds at Wilck’s Lake Trail
Join Virginia Cooperative Extension for a free guided bird walk at Wilck’s Lake Park in Farmville, Virginia. Led by Master Naturalist Ty Smith and Claire Helmke of Piedmont Soil and Water, participants will learn to identify common birds by sight and sound, explore local habitats, and discover the important role birds play in our ecosystem.

πŸ“ Location: Wilck’s Lake Park, 1623 W. Third Street, Farmville, VA
