🏒 Congratulations are in order for 10U SAMHA Coach Adam Bell! 🏒

On May 3rd, Coach Adam Bell was one of only seven coaches honored during the Coaches Excellence Award Ceremony at the MEAHA Annual Meeting in Augusta.

MEAHA coaches who demonstrate coaching excellence are nominated by members and voted on to receive this prestigious recognition. Adam’s strong leadership, dedication, and commitment to ensuring SAMHA players have a positive experience while learning the game of hockey make him incredibly deserving of this award.
More importantly, Adam instills qualities and values in his players that go far beyond the sheet of ice lessons that can be carried throughout life. This is what every coach should strive for when working with our young athletes. He is not only a great coach, but also a tremendous role model for our players, coaches, and community.
Adam’s family Ashley, Wes, and Lilah were also in attendance to celebrate this special honor.

We are sharing information for an upcoming checking clinic this August at PCIA, in case anyone in the appropriate age brackets is interested. The clinic was a big success last summer, and players found it extremely helpful. Being safe is our number 1 priority and this is a clinic that can help your child learn how to appropriate check when playing. See the flyer below for more information.

Attention!! We are going to have equipment return on Thursday April 30th from 5-6 upstairs at the John Millar Civic Center. Please bring back all gear that was borrowed and jerseys as well.

The Commissioner’s Award is given to a player who goes above and beyond.

This year’s recipient, 14u player Patrick Crane, truly exemplifies what it means to give back to the game and the community.

For the past 10 years give or take, Patrick has been a dedicated member of our association. His impact doesn’t stop there, he has also helped coach 6U and 8U teams, showing leadership and mentorship to our youngest players. He went the extra mile by taking classes to become a junior referee, officiating countless games at our arena, often before or after playing in his own.

Patrick has spent so much time at the rink over the years, and if you ask anyone about him, you’ll hear the same thing: “He’s just a good kid.”
Patrick, your heart, dedication, and commitment to not only your team but to our entire association make us incredibly proud. Thank you for being the person you are and for everything you give to this community.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Tom Matthews Award

This is an honor given to a 10u player who demonstrates dedication to their team, a positive attitude, and represents SAMHA with integrity and heart.

This year’s recipient, Zaden Drake, is truly a perfect choice. His commitment, sportsmanship, and character both on and off the ice embody everything this award stands for.

Congratulations, Zaden, and thank you for being such an outstanding player and role model for your teammates and the entire SAMHA community!

SAMHA’s annual banquit celebration was an incredible night celebrating SAMHA! It was an evening filled with congratulations and recognition for the many individuals who make this organization what it is today.

A special thank you to our board, whose dedication and vision have transformed this association into something truly remarkable. The impact you’ve made reaches far beyond the rink, touching the lives of so many junior hockey players and their families. Through every game, every penalty, every goal, every offside call, through the laughter, the tears, the wins, and the defeats you have stood behind us, guiding and supporting this community every step of the way. Your heart, commitment, and countless hours of effort do not go unnoticed.

To our new incoming and returning Board of Directors, we welcome you with open arms and look forward to seeing you build on the incredible foundation that has been created.
