Rotary Club of Houlton Rotary is service-driven. Belonging to a Rotary club gives men and women an organized outlet for contributing to communities. Rotarians make a difference!

The Houlton Rotary Club was established on February 20, 1920 as the first Rotary Club north of Bangor. Frank A. Peabody, founder of the FA Peabody Insurance Company and Charles H. Fogg, editor of the Houlton Times were the prime leaders in getting the Rotary Club in operation. Today we have nearly 70 members throughout the greater Houlton area representing a wide variety of occupations. During its 102-year history the Houlton Rotary Club has been proud to support projects in the Greater Houlton Area and abroad. Some of the various projects that Rotarians have assisted with include:

Thank you to Houlton Regional Hospital CEO Jeff Zewe and the HRH leadership team for joining us at today’s Rotary meeting.

The presentation included updates on the hospital’s financial outlook, expanded specialty services, investments in medical technology, and preliminary plans for a new hospital facility.

As a community service organization, Rotary values opportunities to hear from local leaders, ask questions, and stay informed about issues impacting our region.

What happens when you send three emerging leaders off for a weekend of adventure, teamwork, and leadership training?

They come back ready to change the world! (And apparently with some pretty good whitewater rafting stories, too!)

Today, we welcomed Emilee Shaw and Will Belyea, along with their fellow RYLA participant, Hope Royal, to share their experience at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.

From climbing ropes courses and jumping off platforms to conquering fears of public speaking, these three pushed themselves outside their comfort zones and came home with more than just great memories.

But here’s the best part… they’re not done!

They’re already working on ideas to bring leadership activities to local middle school students AND create opportunities for RYLA graduates to return as mentors.

This is exactly why Rotary invests in leadership development. We didn’t just sponsor a weekend experience. We helped spark something that could have a lasting impact right here in Houlton.

We couldn’t be prouder of these three, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!

Raffle tickets are now available for the 71st Annual Houlton Rotary Auction!

Thanks to the generosity of Dead River Company , we're raffling off a $500 heating product certificate! Tickets are just $1 each or 6 for $5, with the drawing on Monday, November 30th.

Ask your friendly neighborhood Rotarian to get yours!

Don't know a Rotarian yet? We'd love to meet you! Our weekly lunch meetings are held Mondays at noon at Watson Hall, 116 Main Street in Houlton, and guests are always welcome.

We have some interesting programs coming up, including a discussion with local healthcare leadership, an update on the Rotary Trailhead Project, and a special evening social with the Gateway Ambassadors on November 10th.

Stop by, meet some of our members, learn a little about what Rotary does in our community, and pick up a few raffle tickets while you're there!

As always, proceeds from our annual auction help support local organizations and community projects.
