If you look at our shelter you will see we use the wood shaving bedding. Our goal is to do concrete (a thin layer to keep the cost down) and this will be more effective to keep it sanitary.

You will also see we need better airflow and we have fans to install into the walls on each end of the shelter, this will circulate air through the shelter.

We do not have the electrical power currently to run these heavy duty fans.

A combination of labor and materials for these improvements will be approximately 4,000 on the lower end of the estimate.

I am not asking or begging anymore. The people that care support our shelter and have carried us through the hardest times. If you feel in your heart you see that we truly need to improve the shelter so these rescue dogs have better living conditions, then I will leave the link below if you’d like to contribute.

Go fund me fundraisers attracts scammers and doesn’t typically do so well. This is why we avoid it and leave our link for donation options.

Hope this paints a clear picture of just two of many improvements we’d like to do to our shelter. Thank you all.

It is with great difficulty that I must assert our position. Henceforth, we will not be accepting calls regarding dogs being misidentified as cats or other unrelated issues. If Liz is unable to secure assistance with her financial matters, I will be left with no choice but to consider dissolving our current arrangement. The unsustainable nature of our financial situation has taken a significant toll on my well-being. The reality is that our home has been practically sold to fund rescue, and I have shouldered the burden of supporting others. When pleas for assistance with essential expenses such as electrical work and veterinary bills are met with criticism, it highlights the gravity of our situation. Let me be clear: the rescue organization is facing financial ruin and is on the brink of collapse. Our immediate focus is on ensuring the welfare of the dogs in our care and our foster program. If we are unable to achieve this, it may be a sign that our efforts are not meant to be. Closed to calls please kindly go away.

Sometimes I just want to ask people to take a second and picture yourself in rescuers shoes. Picture yourself saying “YES, I will take the stray dog you’ve contacted me about”. Now, say yes to 40-60 more dogs.

You now have 40-60 dogs, scrambling for kennels for them, but now your kennels are full.

But the daily requests keep coming,
You take some more because some situations are genuinely heartbreaking emergencies that you can’t turn away from.

You are a 501c3 nonprofit, therefore everyone assumes you always have the solution….

But you’re really just person, like everyone else. You’re juggling dogs, dog health issues, dog behavioral challenges, cleaning, daily chores, full time jobs, compassion fatigue, physical fatigue, keeping up with supplies, bills, etc. Your mind is exhausted knowing you’re failing.

I am just a person like everyone else, wondering how in the world I’m going to continue caring for all of these dogs for the rest of their life without any guarantee of support. There are no guarantees, just the handful of friends that keep your rescue afloat.

Many of our dogs are not super adoptable. (Please do not suggest with put them down) that is a decision we make case by case, with many factors.

My point is, We cannot rely on the same few people that have kept our rescue afloat for the last year. Something has to change. Rescue is scary.

To the ones that really get it, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every month I wonder how we’re going to get through.

If you cannot donate, I just ask you to please share our posts. My greatest concern right now is getting through this summer. The summer heat is here and we have to make some serious electrical improvements as well as other shelter improvements, which takes materials, laborers and time, and we all know time is money.

Thank you again to our friends that keep us afloat.
If you are one of our regular supporters, we appreciate you more than you know.

We are having to take metal off of the sides of the shelter for better air flow with this summer heat creeping in.

We can’t have hot dogs….🥵 🐶 🚨

We have the built in fans already, but a lot of electrical work will need to be done to run that much electricity all day.

-Yes, this will raise the electrical bill aswell.

We desperately need to get this electrical work done to the shelter, and between vet visits, daily costs to keep the shelter going, we are just at a loss at this point.

Labor and materials costs nowadays are outrageous.
Feel like we’re sinking.

This is our life. We’ve committed to helping animals, but we are definitely sinking as each day passes.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you 🙏

Upcoming Event:

Let’s never forget Makayla Fortner, the 15 year old girl that lost her life doing what she loved, caring for animals.

As many of you may know, we still have one of the smaller dogs that Makayla had taken to her home in attempt to rescue. She took her home, along with two puppies, gave them baths, food and love. Her name is Lulu, and she is the sweetest little dog. Makayla would have wanted her to have a forever home, and to not still be stuck in a rescue shelter. Unfortunately, our last foster for Lulu didn’t work out and so her being back in our shelter makes it harder for her to work on learning how to be inside of a home.

Lulu is such a good girl. She took on role as momma with two other puppies at the time of her rescue. She is loving, playful, and very friendly. She is maybe 2.5 years old.

Lulu will attend the event for Makayla in hopes to get seen for a better chance of being adopted.

If you are in Arkansas and can make the event, please save the flyer, save the date.

Makayla, you will never be forgotten, you are loved and respected by so many. ❤️🐾

Update: It was colitis.
Thank you to Betty for helping with the majority of this visit, and Rhonda and an anonymous contributor donating towards this sweet baby. We do believe this is a situation where the owner went into the hospital and has not come back. 😞 but he is being cared for and is going to be ok.

You can call our vet directly at:
