Our home in Amenia has officially earned their green thumbs! 🌱🍅

Residents spent the day planting tomato and pepper plants and are already looking forward to watching their garden grow this season. From planting to watering, everyone had a hand in bringing the garden to life.

Gardening offers many benefits for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including opportunities to build responsibility, develop new skills, stay active, and enjoy the calming effects of spending time outdoors. Most importantly, it provides a rewarding sense of accomplishment as they nurture something from seed to harvest.

We can't wait to see how this year's garden grows!

Every cat deserves love, attention, and a chance to find a forever home. 🐱❤️

Kayden recently visited Beans Cat Cafe in Beacon, where more than 16 adoptable cats are waiting for their next chapter. He and one of his housemates enjoyed spending time with the cats, helping provide the socialization and care that can make a difference in their adoption journey.

For many individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), spending time with animals can help reduce stress, encourage social interaction, and provide a sense of comfort and companionship. Experiences like these create meaningful connections for both people and pets. Thank you to Beans Cat Cafe for creating a space where both people and cats can thrive together.

With the warm weather finally arriving, we made our exciting return to the Chester Agriculture Center’s community garden! 🌱☀️

With smiles, teamwork, and plenty of enthusiasm, our members got back to work preparing for another season of growth, learning, and community connection. This project is about so much more than gardening, it’s about building confidence, trying new things, and creating meaningful experiences together.

A special thank you to Sara, Charles, and everyone at CAC for welcoming us back with open arms. We are so excited for all that this season will bring and cannot wait to share the journey with all of you! 🪴💚

Support for the I/DD community is not optional — it is essential. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and the organizations that serve them rely on consistent, sustainable funding to maintain critical supports and services.

We are calling on lawmakers to include the full 4% TII in the final budget to help protect progress, support providers, and invest in the future of care across New York State. Join us in advocating for the disability community today.

The I/DD community deserves a future built on stability, support, and opportunity. We are urging lawmakers to include the full 4% TII in the final budget to help sustain essential services, strengthen the workforce, and ensure providers can continue meeting the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Now is the time to take action. Write a letter, make a call, schedule a meeting, or help spread the message. Together, we can advocate for a stronger future for the disability community.

It’s time to invest in the I/DD community.

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities deserve access to consistent, high-quality supports. Providers need sustainable funding to continue delivering the care, programs, and services families count on.

We urge lawmakers to include the full 4% TII in the final budget.
