Foodshed Alliance

Foodshed Alliance Non-profit devoted to strengthening sustainable farming and access to fresh, healthy food in NJ.

The Foodshed Alliance is a grassroots, non-profit devoted to promoting sustainable farming and locally grown, fresh, healthy food in northern New Jersey. We believe that the future of our health, our land, and our communities depends, to great extent, on the existence of local farms–that farmers are the keystone to our connection with our food, the land and our sense of place. It is this convictio

n that drives us to work, with farmers, consumers, and agricultural professionals to foster a self-sustaining “foodshed” that supports farmers, nourishes people, respects the land, and strengthens our communities.

🍎 Attention New Jersey Fruit Growers 🍑

Rutgers University is conducting a brief survey to better understand how the April frost events have impacted fruit crop production, farm operations, and the economic challenges growers are facing across New Jersey.

The information gathered will help communicate the severity of these impacts to legislative offices, the Farm Service Agency, and other partners, while also helping shape future research and Extension support programs for fruit growers statewide.

Thank you to all of the growers continuing to navigate unpredictable weather and support our local food system. 🌱
