VFW Post 10630 Membership
Is has been another fantastic year and our Post continues to grow increasing the positive impact we have on the Hope Mills and surrounding communities. To highlight a few:
1. We presented an Eagle Flag Pole ornament to the Saint Avold, France, Friendship Alliance replacing the one that was stolen from them. Many of you may not know this but Saint Avold is the sister city of Fayetteville.
2. Leading up to the annual "National Day of Service" we collected and donated over 2,000 pounds of food and other supplies to the Alms House helping them to combat food insecurity in our Community.
3. We supported the annual "Our Community Salutes" event helping to enlist over 150 High School Seniors into the Armed Services.
4. We awarded nearly $1,000 in scholarships and other awards to students, teachers and public safety officers recognizing them for their hard work and significant contributions to our community.
5. We helped students from Jack Britt High School connect with and deliver toiletries to the VA Hospital.
6. We hosted Congressman Richard Hudson along with many other elected officials at our Veterans Day Remembrance once again earning the distinction of being the best in Cumberland County.
7. We placed wreaths on the graves of our community veterans at both the Adcock and Hope Mills cemeteries as part of the annual Wreaths Across America event.
8. We were recognized as a "VFW 125th Anniversary Commemorative Post" and, as an "All American Post".
This is just a small snapshot of the incredible impact you all have on our Community. Your Leadership and commitment to Service, long after many of you have left Active Duty, continues to set the example for all to follow. Thank you for all you do!
Martine and I would like to wish all of you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Jim
