This summer with funding from Prince William Sound RCAC we were able to host three summer interns, and provide scholarships for participants in our Teen Eco-adventure, Marine Mammal, and Fins and Scales camps. The support from PWSRCAC allows more students to participate in programs and have the kind of experiences that build environmental stewards and community leaders. Do you love a good beach walk? We do too! Join us THIS SATURDAY for a marine debris cleanup to show our beautiful coastline some love.

We will be walking the beach from Mud Bay to Miller's Landing, collecting and documenting debris as we go, as part of our annual Coast Walk cleanups. 🌊 This is a great way to help keep our coastline beautiful while enjoying the outdoors. The cleanup is from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and we will meet at the Kachemak Drive parking lot, at the base of the spit before heading to the beach. Bags and gloves provided.

Tomorrow, September 19th from 9:30- 5:30, Join the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies as we clean between Diamond Creek and Bishop's Beach.

This 7 mile stretch of cliffy beach is unique for the Homer side of Kachemak Bay. With very limited access this beach collects little debris from visitors, but is more exposed to Cook Inlet, and receives drifted in debris making it look more like a remote beach cleanup. We will be covering the entire stretch between these two points, collecting and documenting debris as we go.

The CoastWalk season starts this Saturday at Bishop's Beach. We will be out there from 10:00- 2:00 cleaning, playing games, and enjoying a beautiful fall day on the beach. Besides helping to clean up on a much loved beach this is a great time to adopt a CoastWalk zone of your own, or sign up for one of our community cleanups. last year CoastWalk volunteers removed over 12,000 items equaling nearly 3,500 lbs of debris from our local beaches. Lend a hand and help keep our bay beautiful and healthy.

We've got a few more wildcrafting workshops to offer this September! 🌸🌟

🎨Join for nature journaling around the Inspiration Ridge Preserve with a naturalist, and learn how to make Devil's Club Salve that you can take home! 🌲 September 8th & 22nd (Tuesday's).

We'v also got some more guided nature hikes! Come learn about the flora and fauna and see all the changing colors around the property as the plants prepare for fall! 🧡💛🍂⛅
