THIS SATURDAY! (8/22) 🎼 COME JAM with us at the Wynn Nature Center! and enjoy COMPLIMENTARY CHILI! 🥘

We are lucky enough to be joined by some of the folks who usually jam at the HCOA for a little Saturday celebration! So... you are invited to our Community Chowder n' Chili Celebration! 4-6pm, bring yourself and your family for good food & good company!

This is a free event, with complimentary chili! We hope this is a community building event where you get to enjoy being at the Wynn Nature Center after hours!

🫐J oin us next Tuesday, August 25th, 6-8pm, at the Inspiration Ridge Preserve , for a workshop that will teach you how to identify edible versus poisonous berries, harvest your own, and make your own jam to take home!

Did your teen miss out on a camp experience this summer? Or are they craving more time outside now that school is right around the corner?

🧡💛JOING OUR FALL TEEN CAMP! We've got you covered this labour day weekend!

Sign ups are now available for our Fall Teen Camp that will be held September 4th-7th, at our Peterson Bay Field Station! ✅

Departing after school on Friday, returning to the harbor on Monday (labor day) late morning, for a jam packed weekend of fun for your teen!

On teen camp, there will be:
🐙 Beach exploration
🌲 Hiking through coastal forests
🎨 Art projects and team building
🌈Fun time in nature with friends

We have scholarships available, so please don't hesitate to ask for financial assistance to make this trip feasible for you and your family! Travel assistance available for remote communities as well!

Every year CoastWalk volunteers remove thousands of pounds of debris from the beaches of Kachemak Bay. Volunteers can take part by signing up for organized community cleanups, or adopting a Zone of Kachemak Bay to clean and document this fall. Sign up, and be part of this Homer tradition over 40 years running. It all gets going Saturday, September 5th at CoastWalk Kickoff!

Crane Walks are BACK! 🌟 at the Inspiration Ridge Preserve 💖
8/17, 8/20, 8/24, 8/27, 8/31, and 9/03 at 6pm

Crane Walks give you the opportunity to view sandhill cranes as they gather for pre-migration staging, allowing participants to learn more about cranes, explore the ridge above Kachemak Bay, and capture incredible photos.

All ticket income will go towards crane education in the Homer, AK area. Please note that while tour times have been set for the best chance of seeing the cranes, they are wild animals and we cannot guarantee they will be present.

Each encounter starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm. Please arrive promptly.
