We want to introduce you to something new we’re launching at The Galley Cafe: our Free Meal Vouchers Program.
As many of you know, the funds we make at The Galley Cafe go directly toward supporting The Galley Youth Outreach, where we provide free meals and drinks to teens after school, Monday through Friday.
However, the Youth Outreach program only runs during the school year. During the summer months, we worry that some kids may have limited access to food. We also recognize that food insecurity affects people outside the age range of our Youth Outreach program.
That’s where our Meal Vouchers Program comes in.
With a $10 donation, we’re able to provide a meal voucher to someone in need, youth or adult alike, allowing them to enjoy a free, warm meal of their choice at The Galley Cafe. Currently, meal options include chicken tenders or a burger, served with fries and a drink. We plan to expand the voucher menu with more options in the future.
Yesterday, at SPARC’s Community Resource Connect, we were able to distribute 100 meal vouchers to individuals in need. We hope this is just the beginning.
If you’re interested in donating toward a meal voucher, please stop by the Cafe Tuesday through Saturday, 7am–3pm, and let us know you’d like to contribute.
