Reflections of Excellence & Sisterhood 🌸
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Omicron Alpha Omega Chapter, was honored to celebrate 118 years of sisterhood and service in exquisite style during our Founders’ Day program!
This year’s theme, “Reflections of Black Excellence in Art,” was beautifully brought to life through a dynamic and uplifting celebration. Our program began with a powerful meditation and prayer led by Bishop Teresa E. Snorton, the 59th Bishop and the first female Bishop in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated—setting a reverent and inspiring tone for the entire occasion.
We were especially inspired by the powerful message delivered by our sister, Carrie J. Clark, 29th Great Lakes Regional Director and International Regional Director. Her words on the importance of the arts within our community reminded us of the vital role creativity, culture, and expression play in uplifting and strengthening our communities.
We were also proud to honor two outstanding individuals for their excellence and impact:
✨ Mrs. Gloria Gipson Suggs – Ethel Hedgemon Lyle Venturous Award
✨ Mr. Dale “Keiffer” DeBerry – Lucy Diggs Slowe Artistic Award
This celebration was a true reflection of purpose, legacy, and excellence. Thank you to everyone who joined us as we honored our beloved Founders and celebrated the richness of Black artistry and service.
Together, we continue to uplift, inspire, and serve. đź’—đź’š
