🎶 Please join us in welcoming Mr. Rico to the HMS Choir family!

Mr. Rico is a graduate of OBHS and earned his Music Education degree from Ole Miss. Many of you may be surprised to learn that he completed his student teaching right here at Hernando High and Hernando Middle alongside Mr. Beech, so this truly feels like a homecoming!

After graduating, Mr. Rico taught middle and high school choir in the Tupelo area, where he put his passion for helping students grow through music to work. He brings incredible energy to the classroom, and we know our singers are going to love learning from him!

Outside the classroom, he’s been lighting up the stage in community theatre productions and recently discovered a love for ballroom dancing.

We are thrilled to have him join our choir program. Welcome to HMS, Mr. Rico! 🎉🎶

Choir is so much more than just singing notes on a stage. It’s confidence being built, friendships being formed, and voices learning how to come together as one. Through every rehearsal and performance, students learn confidence, teamwork, creativity, and the courage to be fully themselves. Music has a way of creating connection unlike anything else, and choir becomes more than a class, it becomes a family.

Congratulations to Hernando Middle School for an incredible season of music making. On to the next! 🎶

We’ve had an incredible start to our Plushie Drive for LeBonheur! Help us by donating new, unused stuffed animals and bring comfort to young patients in our community. Bring your donated items to the HPAC choir room!

Requirements:
- New, Unused (Tag Still Attached)
- School Appropriate Plushie (cute & cuddly is the goal!)
- Donate before April 15th!

If you have gently used stuffed animals, we’re also having a separate drive to LifeHouse Desoto! Clean out your closets & attics, and let’s continue to make a difference in the foster community as well!

Touring Treble Choir had the honor of performing at the annual DeSoto County Joint Concert! A huge thank you to CoroRio for organizing such a meaningful event in support of choral arts across our community.

It was incredibly special to see schools from all over DeSoto County come together, reminding us just how important it is to uplift and support one another!
