Holdingford PTO

Holdingford PTO Formerly Holdingford Elementary PTA | Transitioning to Holdingford PTO — an independent, locally governed nonprofit supporting Holdingford PreK–6.

The Holdingford Elementary PTA is a volunteer-driven group of parents, staff, and community members dedicated to creating opportunities that enrich the educational experience of every PreK–6 Husker.

💚 We organize fundraisers like the Cash for the Kernel Walk-a-Thon, run family favorites like the Scholastic Book Fair, and bring joy with events such as Grandparents/Special Guest Day, Inflatable Day

, Teacher Appreciation Week, and Spirit Dress-Up Days.

📚 Every dollar raised goes right back to our kids—supporting field trips, classroom resources, enrichment activities, and special schoolwide events.

🙌 None of this would be possible without the teamwork of our incredible volunteers, teachers, and staff who link arms to make Holdingford Elementary a vibrant and supportive community. We welcome all parents, guardians, and friends of Huskers to join us in supporting our students and school!

NOTICE OF INTENT TO DISSOLVE

The Holdingford PTA intends to dissolve and transition to a new, independent nonprofit PTO serving our Holdingford school community.

This transition will allow our parent organization to operate independently with a simpler, locally governed structure while continuing the same mission of supporting our students and staff.

A public meeting to consider and vote on the dissolution will be held:

📅 Tuesday, September 15
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Holdingford Public Schools – Elementary Media Center

We look forward to this next chapter and continuing to support our students, staff and school community!

The Holdingford Elementary PTA joins our school and community in mourning the loss of Ms. Caspers.

There are hundreds of children — and countless families — who carry a piece of her.

Some remember her classroom.

Some remember a book she read, a lesson she taught, a laugh she shared, or the way she made them feel safe when they were small and the world felt big.

Many won't remember every detail.

But they carry forward the confidence she helped build.
The kindness she modeled.
The patience she showed.
The encouragement she gave when they needed it most.

That is the remarkable thing about teachers.

They become part of stories they never get to fully see.

A little piece of them travels forward in every child whose life they touch.

But Ms. Caspers' impact extended far beyond her students.

It lives in the families who trusted her with their children.
It lives in the colleagues who worked alongside her every day.
It lives in the countless friendships she built throughout our school community.

For more than twenty years, Ms. Caspers was woven into the fabric of Holdingford Elementary.

Her roots in Holdingford ran deep. Ms. Caspers once walked these same hallways as a student, years before she would return as a teacher. The community that helped raise her became the community she spent her life pouring back into, investing in generation after generation of children.

Generations of students passed through our doors and into her classroom. Families returned with younger siblings, knowing their children would be welcomed, encouraged, and cared for. Colleagues shared not only hallways and classrooms with her, but years of friendship, laughter, support, and a shared commitment to the children of our community.

It will be hard to walk through our school without thinking of her.

Hard not to picture her beautiful smile.

Hard not to remember the way she could light up a room simply by walking into it.

She brought joy wherever she went.

Her students knew that holidays in Ms. Caspers' classroom were something special. Whether it was Christmas, Halloween, or the annual St. Patrick's Day visit from a mischievous leprechaun who somehow managed to leave the classroom in complete disarray, she embraced every celebration with enthusiasm, creativity, and a sense of wonder that made childhood feel magical.

Those moments became memories that students carried with them long after they left her classroom.

One of the things many of us will remember most was her gratitude.

Even when the PTA was trying to celebrate her during Staff Appreciation Week, Ms. Caspers would find a way to thank us instead.

A card.
A kind note.
A heartfelt message.

She had a gift for making people feel seen and appreciated.

No gesture was ever too small to deserve her gratitude.

That was simply who she was.

Over this past year, our community followed her journey with hopeful hearts, praying for healing and hoping for more time.

Today, there are no perfect words.

Only gratitude.

Gratitude for the children she taught.
Gratitude for the families she welcomed.
Gratitude for the colleagues who were fortunate enough to work beside her.
Gratitude for the kindness, compassion, joy, and wonder she brought into our school every day.

The impact of a teacher cannot be measured in years served or lessons taught.

It is measured in lives shaped.

And Ms. Caspers' impact reaches far beyond the walls of Holdingford Elementary.

To the Caspers family, please know that our hearts are with you. We grieve alongside you, and we are deeply grateful that Ms. Caspers shared her gifts, her kindness, and her heart with our community for so many years.

Long after the final school bell rings, her impact will remain.

It will be found in the confidence of former students, in the memories of families, in the friendships of colleagues, and in the halls of Holdingford Elementary where her presence will never be forgotten.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever woven into the fabric of our school community.

Perhaps the best way to honor Ms. Caspers is to carry forward a little of what she gave so freely—to encourage a child, create a little wonder, share a smile, or take a moment to let someone know they are appreciated.

💚

From tracking down candid photos and organizing group and activity pictures, to confirming names and information, coordinating submissions, helping with ordering, gathering sixth grade messages and compiling student and staff data — creating an elementary yearbook is a HUGE undertaking with so much work happening behind the scenes.

Yearbook volunteers wear a lot of hats: negotiating contracts, communicating with vendors, managing deadlines, reviewing layouts, double-checking details, and helping make sure every student and memory is represented with care.

A very special THANK YOU to Katrina Kunstleben for the countless volunteer hours she puts into helping create the Holdingford Elementary yearbook each year! 💚

We would also like to thank Nikki Fiedler, Christy Gustafson, and Renee Rudolph for their help, support, and teamwork throughout the process, along with Treasurer Sara Skroch for helping keep track of yearbook orders and all of the money coming in and out throughout the process.

And thank you to our teachers who take the time to help proof pages and ensure everything is accurate for our students and families.

Because of dedicated volunteers willing to put in the extra hours, our students and families will have these special memories to look back on for years to come. Thank you all for everything you do for Holdingford Elementary!

As another wonderful school year comes to a close, the Holdingford Pre-K–6 PTA is reflecting on all of the incredible experiences our students enjoyed this year — and the amazing community that helps make them possible.

The majority of PTA fundraising dollars each year go directly toward supporting student field trips and transportation costs for our Pre-K through 6th grade students. While some destinations generously offer free or reduced admission, the PTA helps cover bussing expenses so students can still enjoy these meaningful opportunities. For larger trips, the PTA contributes as much as possible to help reduce costs for families.

This year’s adventures included:
🐴 Pre-K — Gustafson Acres
🦒 Kindergarten — Como Zoo
🍁 1st Grade — Bowlus Syrup Ranch & Thomsen’s Greenhouse
🏕️ 2nd Grade — Minnesota Pioneer Park
🦁 3rd Grade — Hemker Zoo
🔬 4th Grade — Science Museum of Minnesota
⛺ 5th Grade — Camp Lebanon
🐅 6th Grade — Safari North Wildlife Park
…and more!

🐴One of our favorite highlights this spring was the Pre-K trips to Gustafson Acres. Students spent the day exploring Ms. Christy's farm, meeting horses, petting adorable bunnies, planting flowers, completing obstacle courses, enjoying a snack on the lawn, and heading out on a nature walk to search for hidden rubber duckies along the trail. The smiles and excitement made for some truly sweet memories!

⛷ Another especially exciting opportunity this year was a ski experience offered to our 6th grade students to help promote physical activity, outdoor recreation, and lifelong wellness. We were so excited to have Ms. Gerads, our PE teacher, eager to get students out to try something many of them may never otherwise have the chance to experience again. This opportunity was made possible through a generous donation from Foundation 94, whose support allowed students to participate in an experience that otherwise would not have been possible through the regular PTA field trip budget. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and commitment to supporting opportunities that encourage students to stay active, try new things, and build confidence outside the classroom.

We also want to give a HUGE shoutout to our amazing teachers who organize and coordinate all of these exciting, memory-making experiences for our students. These trips are so much more than just a day away from school — they are hands-on learning opportunities and core memories our kids will carry with them for years to come.

Thank you as well to:
🚌 Our bus drivers for safely getting students to and from their adventures
🍎 Our kitchen staff for preparing lunches to-go
🙌 Our parent chaperones for volunteering their time
❤️ And our families and community members who support PTA fundraising throughout the year

It truly takes all of us working together to create these opportunities for Holdingford students, and we are so thankful for the support!
