Nice day today after completing the journey. Spent last night and tonight in a quiet property next to a church. Parked behind a big Magnum 400 tractor and 3 John Deere combines that were in the big Rice Day parade this morning. Several miles long, lots of queens and princess's for rice, cattle, etc. Finished up in front of the double grandstand. Every unit was introduced. Kinda cool for a parade unit to come from Minnesota. Travel home plans came together today as well. I unexpectantly sold the tractor to a local collector. His wife has a cool Utube channel called Farm wife Farm life. So the old M will continue to attract attention
Tractor going to a very good home. Will be housed in the local historical museum. Used for hay rides and parades
Feel good about that! Unable to get a decent price for my little gently used camper. Since I need to get home, best option was to rent a pickup and haul myself, my tools, and my camper home. Will get a ride including pulling the camper to nearby Beaumont in the morning, fill out some forms, hook up the camper and head north, should be home mid week. Really nice folks here in Winnie, just like all along the way. But they still think I talk with a heavy accent. Words like mame, sir, are standard. Great place to stop if you ever get a chance. Will post daily until i get home, and a final post after funds are totalled
