🌍 STARS Syncope Summit 2026, Munich, Germany: driving change for people who faint

On Sunday we held the first ever STARS Syncope Summit 2026, bringing together world-leading syncope experts to share knowledge, challenge thinking and, most importantly, explore how we can improve care for people living with syncope.

From service development and care pathways to understanding how syncope is assessed and treated in different countries, the Summit provided a unique opportunity to reflect on how far the field has come - and how much more there is still to do.

For too long, syncope has been unrecognized and unprioritized, despite the profound impact it can have on patient’s lives. The message from the Summit was clear: we need better awareness, earlier recognition, consistent care pathways and services that truly meet the needs of people who faint.

Because at STARS, we believe:
There is no such thing as a simple faint - there is always an explanation.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their expertise and passion to the STARS Syncope Summit 2026, and to our wonderful sponsors, CNSystems, Finapres Medical Systems and Medtronic. Together, we can help ensure that fainting is taken seriously and that every person receives the care they deserve.

Unexplained palpitations, dizziness or lightheadedness?

These symptoms can sometimes occur alongside syncope (fainting) and may be linked to an abnormal heart rhythm.
New research suggests that recording your heart rhythm when symptoms happen could help detect arrhythmias that may not be picked up during traditional monitoring.

In the study, patient-initiated EKG recordings with KardiaMobile 6L - AliveCor detected more clinically significant arrhythmias than standard 24- or 48-hour Holter monitoring.

For people whose symptoms come and go, being able to record their heart rhythm when symptoms happen could provide valuable information for their healthcare team.
