Veterans Care Network

Veterans Care Network Official page for Military Veterans Resource Center. We recognize that the transition from military service to civilian life often is difficult.

For over twenty years, Veterans Care Network, formerly Military Veterans Resource Center, has helped veterans regain the self-reliance, independence and self-confidence they felt as a service member. Our goal is to help veterans identify and overcome the barriers that are holding them back from the life they want.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also pause to reflect on those who never made it home- and the families who carry their legacy forward every day. 🇺🇸

We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.

The Veterans Food Bank is facing a high level of need right now, and a local fundraiser is helping make a difference in a unique way.

Shaun Hood, Realtor is sponsoring a raffle for a one-week stay at a vacation home in Naples, Florida, with all proceeds benefiting the Veterans Food Bank. The goal is to raise $5,000 to help support veterans in our community.

The raffle drawing will be held June 13, so there’s only a short time left to enter and help spread the word.

If you’d like to support the cause, check out the raffle details in the comments.

April is the Month of the Military Child 💜

Military kids may not wear the uniform, but they serve in their own way every day—through moves, new schools, and time apart from loved ones.

Their strength doesn’t go unnoticed. Today and always, we thank them too.

This past Saturday, Nationwide’s Military Associate Resource Group (MARG) stopped by our Veterans Food Bank and packed 7,000 meals for veterans and their families.

They jump in every few months to help with this, which frees up our team to spend more one-on-one time helping the veterans we serve- and that makes a huge difference.

With today’s food prices, those meals are worth about $43,000. That’s real support going straight back to local veterans and their families.

We’re so grateful for partners like Nationwide who continue to show up and give back. 🇺🇸

As Team USA marches into the stadium tonight for the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Milano–Cortina, it’s flag bearer will be Army SGT Frank Del Duca. It is no surprise that many of our nation’s greatest Olympians have also served in the military. The discipline and training required of elite athletes often mirrors what is expected of those in our armed forces. Here are the Olympians currently serving both our country and Team USA during the Winter Games in Italy:

- Army Infantryman SGT Frank Del Duca looks to continue his success as Team USA’s top bobsled driver after an outstanding 2025 season. Del Duca is returning for his second Olympics and will be joined by first time Olympian CPL Hakeem Abdul Saboor, a brakeman for the two and four man bobsled.

- Seasoned Olympians Army Human Resource Specialist SSG Deedra Irwin and Carpentry and Masonry Specialist SPC Sean Doherty are aiming for historic medals in biathlon. Irwin is returning for her second Olympic Games, while Doherty is competing in his fourth.

- SPC Azaria Hill will compete in the two-woman bobsled as a brakeman. Both of her parents were Olympians.

- SPC Dana Kellogg, who joined the Army as an 88M Truck Driver in 2019, has continued to pursue his passion for luge while balancing military duties. He will compete in his first Olympics in Men’s Luge Doubles.

- Army SGT Emily Fischnaller (formerly Sweeney) will represent Team USA in singles luge. This will be the second Olympics for the Military Police officer.

- SGT Ben Loomis is set to make history in Milano–Cortina as one of only 10 U.S. Olympians competing in their third Olympic Games. The Army Motor Transport Operator will compete with the U.S. Nordic Combined team.

- After joining the Army in February 2025 as an 88M Auto Transport Operator, PV2 Spencer Howe will make his Olympic debut in Senior Pair Skating.

- Joining the five Army athletes are two competitors from the Air Force. SSgt Kelly Curtis, who made history at the 2022 Beijing Games as the first Black athlete to compete for Team USA in skeleton, looks to improve on her 21st place finish. SrA Jasmine Jones, a Material Specialist, will make her first Olympic appearance pushing the two-woman bobsled.

Good luck to all!
