Important Announcement:
🚫Cancellation of the 8/22 HVEC Speed Show 🚫

Dear Huron Valley Equestrian Committee Members, Riders, and Families,

After careful consideration and thorough discussion among the HVEC board members, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming speed show scheduled for this weekend, Saturday, August 22nd.

Following the recent precedent set by the MBRA, we feel that safeguarding the health and safety of everyone’s horses must be our absolute highest priority. Because many of our riders participate across multiple barrel racing organizations, 4-H circuits, and are preparing for the upcoming MIHA seasons, the risks associated with potential cross-contamination are simply too high to ignore. We want to ensure all of our youth and adult riders can start their respective seasons on a healthy note, completely avoiding unnecessary biological risks.

While we are incredibly saddened to cancel an event we were so excited to host, stopping the spread of illness and keeping our equine partners healthy is our ultimate responsibility.

Thank you all deeply for your understanding, support, and shared commitment to the safety of our local horse community. We look forward to seeing you all back in the arena soon.

Sincerely,
The Huron Valley Equestrian Committee Board

Thank you to our board members, volunteers, their families and our exhibitors for a very successful Gymkhana Show at HVEC yesterday! We appreciate the support from everyone. We couldn't have done it without you all! A special shout out and thank you to the Highland Twp Fire Department for watering our arena yesterday morning to keep the dust under control!

We hope to see everyone at the next show of the series on August 22nd. Additionally if you attended and have any feedback to share please message our page. We are always open to finding new ways to improve for our exhibitors!
