Huron Valley Optimist Club

Who are you gonna call? Ghostbusters? Not when you have an Optimist tribe that will help when you get a short-notice offer to serve the community! Thank you Bill and Nancy Maxfield from the Waterford club and Mattao from his weekend activities. With a small group of volunteers and help from our friends, we worked hard to cook and serve over 1200 hot dogs for the White Lake Township Fisk Farm Trunk or Treat event.

The JOI club (jr optimist international) met last week at Milford High. They have some great ideas to serve the community this year. They wrote inspiring messages to their fellow students

Hoby is a leadership program that has been participated in by current Optimist InternationaL (OI) leaders. Cheryl Brenn, our Executive Director, was Hoby trained as a student and then became Hoby employed for many years before coming to OI. You will see evidence of that Hoby influence at the Junior Optimist (JOI) Summit to be held at St. Louis University this month. Milford High School and Lakeland High School support strong JOI clubs, working to become service leaders in the future. Congratulations

Congratulations to Lakeland High School students Owen Nelms & Molly Phillips! They represented Lakeland High School at the Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar at Albion College.

We're proud of you both and can't wait to see what's next!

For 22 years we have brought out the best in youth, in the community, and in ourselves in the Huron Valley Schools community.

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from Optimist International! 🇺🇸
Today, we celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, and the opportunities that make our communities strong. As we gather with family and friends, let us also remember the power of service, kindness, and optimism to create a brighter future for all.
Just as our nation was built by people who believed in a better tomorrow, Optimists continue that tradition by bringing out the best in youth, our communities, and ourselves.
✨ Celebrate freedom. Inspire hope. Make a difference.
