The Optimist Clubs of Huron Valley, Waterford Township, and Keego Harbor are excited to host this FREE community event for local kids and families at Pontiac Lake Recreation Area!

📍 Pontiac Lake Recreation Area – Fishing Pier
📅 Saturday, June 13
⏰ 9:00 AM – Noon

🎣 Ages 6 & Under
• 9:00–9:30 AM or 9:30–10:00 AM

🎣 Ages 7–9
• 10:15–10:45 AM

🎣 Ages 10–14
• 11:00–11:45 AM

✅ Poles & bait provided
✅ Free event
✅ Great for beginners and experienced young anglers alike

Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins will be accepted until each group reaches capacity. Use the QR code on the flyer or email [email protected] to register.

This event is one of the many ways our local Optimist Clubs support youth in our community all year long, and we can’t wait to see families out enjoying a fun morning together at the lake! 🌞🐠

Milford’s JOI Club (Junior Optimist International) is offering a valuable resource to our students tomorrow.

Be sure to share this to help prep for upcoming test days.

The JOI Club is excited to welcome a special guest speaker to help students learn effective strategies for managing stress! This is a fantastic opportunity for all students—especially our juniors, as it comes just ahead of their big testing day.

We encourage students to sign up in advance or stop by the LGI tomorrow to sign in. Our presenter is engaging, interactive, and does a great job connecting with students.

After months of planning, supporting, organizing, and showing up… it all comes together TONIGHT at our 10th Annual Magical Night of Comedy!

This isn’t just a fun night out (although it definitely is 💃😂)…

👉 this is how real, meaningful strides are made for our program.

Every ticket, every auction bid, every sponsor, every guest— it all directly supports providing weekend meals for local kids who need it most.

Because of this night, we’re able to grow, reach more students, and continue showing up for more Huron Valley students every single week. 💙

Their words, confidence, and courage to stand up and be heard is something our entire community can be proud of.

Lola will move on to the next round, representing Huron Valley — and we know both of these students are going to do amazing things.

In the midst of prepping for our largest fundraiser of the year, we had a dedicated volunteer team at the Huron Valley Recreation & Community Education Annual Egg Hunt on Saturday to spread the message about weekend food insecurity in the Huron Valley School District.

We loved hearing the stories about how this program has touched so many.
