Hey all! This company is offering scholarships to students that live within 30 miles of locations that we operate. Here in Winston, it’s the LJVM Coliseum. If your child or Senior is pursuing an education in any of the fields listed below, they could be awarded up to $3000 to assist with tuition, etc.

I've had a few inquiries on when will the next event be hosted.

As we get closer to the planning season we will announce the public location for either Thomasville or Greensboro NC.

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

SiSters!!! If you are struggling with your mental health, . SiSters336 Collective has a great network of Mental health professionals and counselors who are willing and ready to assist anyone in need and accepting a wide range of insurances, including Medicaid or Medicare.

🌱More importantly WE are just a phone call away just to talk through any challenges you might be facing.

Your mental health matters and You can do more than just survive in struggles. You can exhale knowing everything is okay and you will make it.

The Bridge held it's Poverty Simulation exercise that's always intended for citizens and organizations to come together and "see what it's like" to go through challenges in somewhat real life situations. It gives folks the opportunity to negotiate, prioritize and even work together to make sure their household is taken care of.

This simulation was all about making sure you keep a place to live and food on the table using the resources that you have.

I was the office worker at "Sweaney Mortgage" and mannn there were some realistic, surprising moments when dealing with folks who were having to choose ways to negotiate their rent and mortgage payments and fees. Then we had to go knocking on doors to serve eviction notice and that was not fun. Folks were running us away and dodging us until they had the money. Real life stuff. 🥹✌🏾

ONLY one customer came to our office "ready to pay" her bill in full and she said as "long as her mortgage was paid the rest would work itself out!!"🙏🏾 That's true faith in knowing that you will always make it through the challenges that life throws you. 🥰

All in All it was a great experience and I appreciate the efforts of the volunteers and participants. Now I do recommend that other non profit organizations join in for future simulations just to get a visual, which will in turn help with your future programming and outreach for the public.

Our Programs are aligned to not only empower the Youth but the parents, guardian and caretakers just as much. WE are the Village 🙏🏾 and it's our pleasure to be able to support.

How will we reach the youth and families? By meeting them where they are in the schools, enrichment centers and camps and in partnership with other organizations that believe in saving our youth, one child at a time.
