My name is Suha Dabit. I’m a heart mom, photographer, and lifelong advocate for CHD and organ donation awareness. I’ve been doing awareness work since 2015 when I established World If Broken Hearts and joined the board of The Brett Boyer Foundation in 2018. I absolutely adore the work we do and the incredible families we serve.
Over the years, I’ve watched our mission grow, from community outreach to helping fund groundbreaking research, like the partial heart transplant program that has now expanded nationwide. Recently, I’ve taken on the role of Director of Awareness and Visibility at the foundation, where I’m focusing on using storytelling, connection, and my photography to shine a light on CHD in powerful and meaningful ways.
Through this work, I often find myself alongside families during some of their most vulnerable and sacred moments in the hospital. I do this with the hope of helping more people understand the realities of CHD, because with awareness comes support, and with support comes the research funding we so urgently need.
Amanda, Nick, Cody—thank you. Thank you for allowing me in during such a sacred and painful time. Thank you for letting me share Tyler with the world. I am so sorry there weren’t more options for him. But please know, we are not giving up. We are fighting, with tears and heart, for a future where stories like Tyler’s end differently.
With love,
Suha Dabit
