Georgia Foothills Chapter of Trout Unlimited Serving primarily Habersham, White, Stephens, Banks and Hall counties of GA. Mission is to conserve, Trout Unlimited is more than just a fishing club.

Trout Unlimited's mission is to conserve, protect, and restore North America's trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. Our members are conservation-minded anglers who care not just about hooking the biggest trout their fishing companions have ever seen, but about protecting and restoring the streams and rivers trout and salmon inhabit. The Georgia Foothills Chapter is a local chapter serving primarily Habersham, White, Stephens, Banks and Hall counties of Georgia. Georgia has over 2000 miles of officially-designated trout streams. Much of the habitat is marginal and less able to sustain damage than many of the fine trout streams of the North and West. That's just one of the reasons TU is so important in Georgia. We're seeking members who want to be involved with our community, our youth, our vets, our state parks and hatcheries--we welcome you to join us & help us help others. We meet every second Thursday of each month at the United Community Bank in Clarkesville

The Atlanta Fly Fishing Club is hosting a Fly Fishing Swap Meet on November 14th at Jones Bridge Park in Peachtree Corners, GA. While this event is hosted by AFFC, we would like to invite the whole Fly Fishing community. We would love to have members from the Georgia Foothills Chapter of TU join us. Would you consider informing your members?

AFFC has a few estates that we will be selling, and there are already a handful of seller tickets claimed, but we need more. All gear is accepted. Packs, vest, rods and reels, waders that didn't fit right, and old tying vises, etc. The list goes on.

We will provide space and tables for the sellers, but we will not be involved in any financial transactions. Sellers will need to have their pricing set and a way to collect payment. We encourage sellers to have some kind of cashless payment option such as Zelle, Paypal, Cashapp, or Venmo. This should help everyone streamline the purchasing process. The only thing we ask is for all attendees, (buyers and sellers) to sign up on Eventbrite. This will help us with the final count for things like tables, chairs, and food. A free hot dog lunch will be provided for everyone who signs up. Please note there is a separate seller and a buyer ticket.

Trout season is around the corner, are you ready??
Our Oct 8 meeting will help you prepare for any fishing!

We will meet at 6:30pm, United Community Bank of Clarkesville. Of course, we start with food and fellowship
at El Jinete restaurant in Clarkesville at 5:00.

Our special guest speaker will be Jeff Samsel of Clarkesville. He is an all species angler and longtime fishing writer. For the past 10 years
he has worked a content specialist for Pradco-Fishing, who owns 20 fishing lure brands. More recently, Jeff also has been developing his "Fishing on Foot" You Tube channel, which highlights every kind of fishing that can be enjoyed without a boat.
(Bill Hager, you will love this!)

Please bring a friend, some $ for the fly raffle and birthday condolences for me.(Jim Watson took me fishing for my birthday, broke my rod, pushed me in the water and took me home an hour before the trout stocking truck dumped fish where I was fishing!-just ask Lamar!)
