🎄CHRISTMAS LIGHTS 5k WALK! 🎄12/06/25
This is the First (Annual) Alpine Village Christmas Lights Walk, a 5K “Bavarian Style” walk thru an extensive array of Christmas lights, decorations, and even an old fashion Christmas Market, all serving as a celebration of holiday season in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Helen, Georgia. The AHVC is sponsoring the new “German style” event in celebration of the Christmas season in Helen, the third most visited tourist area in Georgia, with an easy 5k evening stroll thru town for the first time ever before.
This is an AVA sanctioned walk. After the beautiful walk and Christmas scenes, prizes drawing will be available at the post walk drawing at 7:30 pm at Loreley. A Ticket for the drawing for each registered walker is FREE with each paid WALK registration of $5.00. Also, we will mark the celebration with a first “2025 Weihnachten Walk” PIN (Only $5.00 for the souvenir “A” Award pin – see logo above) This non-competitive WALK is conducted under American Volkssport Assn (AVA) rules which require completion of an “Official Event Start Card’ for each walker.
Children 12 and under may walk free but also must be accompanied by their parents or guardians. Dogs on a leash are allowed. A walk map and free WATER will be provided at registration. Restrooms are available at the Loreley and there are a number of public restrooms located along the walk route. The Route is rated as “1A”, indicating a relatively flat surface mostly on City sidewalks. This walk may be considered suitable for strollers. AVA Walk books and Stamps will be available at the Clubhouse upon completion after the walk.
This promises to be a fun and memorable Christmas Walk for the whole family!
