🌳 TRAIL SPOTLIGHT: VETERANS MEMORIAL TRAIL 🇺🇸

Did you know that Hebron isn’t just home to 7 wonderful parks? We also have a beautiful trail right here in our community!

🇺🇸 The Veterans Memorial Trail runs parallel to U.S. Route 231 and stretches approximately 0.9 miles. This paved trail is a great place to enjoy a walk, get some fresh air, or take a bike ride while honoring the veterans who have served our country.

We are also honored to have the new Veterans Crisis Line signs along the trail, provided through the Porter County Su***de Prevention and Awareness Task Force.

These signs serve as an important reminder that help is available and you are not alone. ❤️

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. Sometimes knowing that someone is there can make all the difference.

🇺🇸 Walk. Ride. Remember. And know that you are never alone.

💜 September is Su***de Prevention Month 💜

Just in time for Su***de Prevention Month, our 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline signs have been placed throughout our Hebron parks. Thank you Bill at Hebron Public Works for installing these so quickly for us.

These signs are a simple reminder that help is available, you are not alone, and there is always someone willing to listen.

If these signs help just one person reach out for help when they need it most, then we have done our job. 💜

We are proud to partner with our community and the Porter County Health Department in spreading awareness, compassion, and hope. Sometimes, a simple reminder can make a difference.

📞 Call or text 988 — help is available 24/7.

💜 You matter. Your life matters. Help is available.

Every sign placed is another opportunity to reach someone who may be struggling and remind them that help is available, hope is possible, and they are not alone.💜

If you or someone you know is struggling, experiencing thoughts of su***de, or struggling with substance use, call or text 988 anytime. Help is available 24/7.

A special thank you to Linda Brebner and the Hebron Parks & Recreation Board for supporting this effort and taking a proactive role in su***de prevention.

🌳 PARK SPOTLIGHT: COMMUNITY CENTER PARK 🌳

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Community Center Park, a small neighborhood green space conveniently located right behind the Town of Hebron Assembly Hall at 611 N. Main St.

This accessible community park offers a wonderful place for families and neighbors to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and spend time together. ❤️

🌿 What you’ll find at Community Center Park:
• 🧺 A pavilion with picnic tables — perfect for relaxing or enjoying a snack
• 🚶 A walking track for exercise and enjoying the outdoors
• 🛝 A fenced toddler play area for our youngest park visitors
• 📖 A StoryWalk® from the Porter County Public Library System, giving children and families the opportunity to enjoy a story while walking around the walking path!

Community Center Park may be small, but it offers something for everyone — from exercise and outdoor play to reading and spending quality time together. ❤️

We’re proud to have these wonderful spaces throughout our community and love sharing them with you!

💚 Promoting Hope & Supporting Our Community 💚

The Hebron Parks Department is proud to partner with the Porter County Health Department and the Porter County Su***de Task Force to place these important signs throughout our Hebron parks.

We are very proud to be a part of this important effort and to help promote su***de prevention throughout our community. 💚

🌳 PARK SPOTLIGHT: BUCHANAN PARK 🌳
📍 Beverly Drive & Birch Drive – Crestknoll Subdivision

As we continue our journey through Hebron’s parks, today we’re shining the spotlight on one of our smaller neighborhood gems — Buchanan Park! ❤️💚

Located in the Crestknoll subdivision, Buchanan Park is a wonderful example of how even a small park can make a big difference in a neighborhood. It provides a place for nearby families and children to get outside, play, explore and make memories right in their own neighborhood.

🎠 What will you find at Buchanan Park?

🛝 Swings
👶 Baby swings
🌀 Swirl slide
🛝 Large slide
🎠 Merry-go-round
⚖️ Teeter-totters
🕸️ Spider web climber
🧺 Picnic table
🪑 Benches

It may not be one of Hebron’s biggest parks, but that’s part of what makes Buchanan Park special. Neighborhood parks like this are places where kids can burn off some energy, friends can meet up, parents can enjoy watching their children play, and families can create those simple childhood memories that last a lifetime. ❤️

Our parks aren't just playgrounds and green spaces — they are part of the story of our community. They give our neighborhoods places to gather, play and enjoy the outdoors.

So if you’re out exploring Hebron, take a little time to discover Buchanan Park! 🌳☀️

Hebron Parks & Recreation is proud to care for the places that help make our community home. 💚
