Here is a number that should stop you in your tracks. 👇

100

That is the number of African communities Every Child Ministries is believing God to reach in the next 10 years with the hope of the Gospel. Through child sponsorship, family empowerment, discipleship, education, and church partnerships, ECM walks with entire communities as they move from surviving to thriving.

It is a bold goal. But we serve a big God. And with partners like YOU making it possible, we believe every single one of those 100 communities is within reach.

They may not be able to hear with their ears, but their praise rings loud and clear.

These children in Kinshasa, Congo are part of ECM's Let the Deaf Hear project, and they are signing worship songs with their hands, their faces, and their whole hearts.

The deaf in Congo are often isolated, unable to attend school or understand church services, and largely unreached with the Gospel. ECM is changing that, one life at a time, bringing the Good News of Jesus to those who have never had the chance to receive it. ecmafrica

They CAN hear, with their eyes and their hands. And today, they are praising the God who made them and loves them deeply.

Gabriel Ocloo walked out of ECM's Sogakope Hope Center in Ghana with more than memories. He walked out with a future.

As a former beneficiary of ECM's Next Step Program, Gabriel has been steadily working toward building his own fashion design business. Recently, ECM took a meaningful step alongside him, providing an industrial sewing machine to help him go further, faster.

Gabriel shared his heart about the gift: "This machine is second to none. Its speed, precision, and strength have made my work easier and much faster. I'm now able to take more orders and meet deadlines with ease."

He is currently sharing a workspace with a local seamstress as he grows his clientele, and he has pledged to care for and maintain the equipment with excellence. ECM's Sogakope Hope Center remains committed to walking with him as he moves toward full independence.

This is what holistic ministry looks like: not just meeting a need, but equipping a life.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11

Celebrate with us. And thank you for being part of Gabriel's story!

We’re making progress, but we’re not there yet!

Our goal is to collect 6,000 pairs of shoes, and every donation gets us closer.

If you have shoes you no longer wear, this is a simple way to turn them into something meaningful.

From sneakers to sandals, boots to flip-flops, we’re collecting them all. Even fancy high heels!!

Time is running out and there's only a few days left to help us reach our goal!

Find drop off locations and more info at the link in the first comment!

Now through May 31. Let’s reach this goal together!

It takes courage to say - we want to do this better.

ECM made that choice when we invited Anthony Sytsma, author of "Helping Without Hurting in Africa," to come alongside our staff in Uganda and ask honest, hard questions about how we were working in communities. The process wasn't easy. It challenged long-held assumptions and asked staff to think differently than most NGOs operating around them.

But ECM leaned in. And the fruit of that commitment is now showing up in families across Uganda.

Parents who once called the children in ECM's programs "the children of ECM" are now saying "these are MY children." Parents are initiating the start of each school term on their own, without waiting for ECM to prompt them. They are contributing to expenses they never contributed to before. And children are growing in their respect for their parents - family bonds are being restored.

Anthony calls it a real, beautiful partnership. ECM is still walking closely with families who are materially poor. But the posture is different now. It's not ECM doing it for them. It's ECM and families doing it together.

This is what Christ-centered, dignity-driven transformation looks like. Thank you for being part of a ministry willing to do the hard work of getting it right.

Apio Catherine is a single mother working hard to provide for her children, including her daughter Jemimah, an ECM sponsored child from our Karamojong Kampala Hope Center in Uganda.

When Jemimah’s birthday was celebrated at the Hope Center recently, the leftover funds were used to give her mother a special boost for her small food business. Catherine received fresh meat to cook and sell, helping her earn more income for school needs and daily expenses.

Her gratitude was overflowing. She promised to grow her business so she can better provide for her children.

This small act of kindness is another way God uses your support to strengthen families, restore dignity, and bring lasting hope.

Every single icon in this graphic represents a real student with a real future on the line.

This year, 45 young people across Uganda and Ghana are applying for scholarships through ECM's Next Step Scholarship Fund. 19 are returning university students. 10 are brand new to university. 10 are pursuing vocational training. And 6 are children of ECM staff members seeking education.

These students didn't stop at high school graduation. They kept going. Many of them grew up in ECM's sponsorship program, and now they're taking the next step toward independence and a future they are building for themselves. Each one applies annually for scholarship assistance and receives mentorship and guidance along the way.

We have two critical deadlines approaching fast.

We need $2,500 by June 30 and an additional $7,500 by July 31st.

Will you help one of these student take their next step? Find the giving link in the first comment!

ECM co-founder Lorella Rouster is currently in Congo, in the middle of a several week trip serving alongside our ECM Congo team.

While there, she led a staff training conference that brought together ECM staff from Kinshasa and from deep in the interior of Congo. Watch the video to get a glimpse into the conference!

By the end of the conference, the room was overflowing with joy. Staff were equipped, encouraged, and ready to press forward in the work God has called them to.

We are so grateful for Lorella's faithful, hands-on dedication to this ministry and for our incredible Congo team. Please keep her and the team in your prayers as she continues her time there.
