☀️ Recreation Is For Everyone ☀️

Every person deserves the chance to laugh, play, explore, and create lasting memories.

At Mays Mission for the Handicapped, our Summer Camp Program helps make that possible for individuals with disabilities by providing opportunities for recreation, friendship, personal growth, and fun in an inclusive environment where everyone belongs.

For many campers, summer camp is more than just a week away from home. It's a chance to build confidence, discover new interests, make lifelong friends, and experience the joy of simply being a kid.

Because recreation isn't a luxury—it’s an important part of a happy, healthy life.

💙 We believe every individual deserves the opportunity to participate, connect, and thrive.

Together, we can help ensure that no one is left on the sidelines.

At Mays Mission for the Handicapped, we don’t focus on limitations — we focus on ability.

Every day, individuals in our programs show us what’s possible through hard work, determination, and opportunity. From job training to education and life experiences, we see confidence grow, skills develop, and independence take shape.

This is more than a program.
It’s purpose.
It’s progress.
It’s ability in action.

💙 To the Caregivers — Thank You

Behind every milestone, every success story, and every moment of progress, there is often a caregiver giving their time, energy, patience, and love.

At Mays Mission for the Handicapped, we recognize the incredible caregivers who support individuals with disabilities every single day. Your compassion makes independence possible, your encouragement builds confidence, and your dedication changes lives in ways words can’t fully express.

Caregiving is not always easy — but it is deeply meaningful.

Today, we honor the parents, family members, friends, and professionals who show up with strength and heart day after day.

✨ Your care matters.
✨ Your sacrifices matter.
✨ YOU matter.

Please join us in thanking the caregivers in our communities who make ability shine brighter every day. 💙

🇺🇸 — The Legacy of E.W. Mays

After serving our country in World War II, E.W. Mays returned home facing a life-changing reality as a double amputee due to a wartime injury.

But he refused to let disability define his future.

Instead, he turned adversity into purpose — founding Mays Mission for the Handicapped and dedicating his life to serving others. From visiting wounded veterans in hospitals to advocating for individuals with disabilities, E.W. Mays became a voice of hope, dignity, and opportunity for countless people.

In 1969, he coined the words that still guide our mission today:

✨ “It’s Ability, Not Disability, that counts!”

More than fifty years later, that message continues to inspire everything we do.

💙 Help us carry his legacy forward:

👉 Support individuals with disabilities
