High school students will need to wear LONG BLACK ATHLETIC SHORTS (basketball shorts are the preferred choice), their band shirt, and tennis shoes for this Friday, August 28th - the FIRST GAME DAY OF THE SEASON!! We are so excited to get this season started. Please see the game day itinerary in the newsletter.

Parents of band students at all grade levels- Please also mark your calendars for the Instrument Rental Meeting on August 28th. We encourage students to rent a personal instrument from AMRO music. These instruments are durable, newer, and high quality.

Remember- full high school band marching camp starts tomorrow, from 4-6!

Reminder for HSHS Band Students & Parents - Band Camp starts next week! All high school band students are required to attend (all full band rehearsals, showcase, and if/when your relevant group is scheduled separately). See graphic for relevant dates, groups, and times.

🏴‍☠️ Band family, something big is coming over the horizon—and we need all hands on deck!

We’re preparing to build a large pirate ship prop for this year’s pirate-themed halftime show, and we’ll need help from our band family to bring it to life.

We’re especially looking for donations of:

🎨 Exterior paint in shades of brown, black, gold, tan, or gray
🖌️ Paintbrushes, rollers, trays, drop cloths, and painter’s tape
🧤 Gloves, sanding supplies, utility blades, and other small project materials
⏱️ Most importantly—your time and helping hands

There will be opportunities to help with construction, painting, decorating, and assembly. You don’t need to be an expert builder or artist—we’ll have jobs for every skill level.

Please message us before purchasing or dropping off supplies so we can coordinate what is still needed and avoid duplicates.

It’s going to take a crew to get this pirate ship seaworthy, but we believe the finished result will be something our students and community will remember.
