Sulphur Creek Trail has been a big hit. Our 4 trail counters indicate steady growth (see gfltc.com for graphs) in both cycling and pedestrian usage. Phase 3, a loop on the west end, is now being considered. As always, there is way may vision and plans than funding to support it. We are a non-profit and donations are tax deductible. 100% of your donation can go to more trails or improvements, a main pavilion, a bike park and more.

Today is officially the beginning of phase 2 of the Sulphur Creek Trail Project. Work has begun at West Main and this paved trail section will ultimately cross Hwy 110, follow along the bottom of the little d**e on the south side and connect to James Place with an asphalt surface.

March 9th, 2021 marks the most significant milestone since GFLTC was formed in 2009. Thank you Heber Springs for voting to improve the quality of life and for approving the bond issue for Parks and Rec. Much of the masterplan for the trail is legally eased and cleared. Funding will now be available to surface the trail and, with existing ArDot grants for a pedestrian bridge and road striping and signage, we will get a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. Check here for updates on the timeline as more info becomes available.
