GRACE CHANGES EVERYTHING — PART 2: UNITED WITH CHRIST

Romans 6:3–4

What really happened when you came to Christ?

We often understand that Jesus forgave us. Jesus saved us. Jesus died for us. But in Romans 6:3–4, Paul shows us that there is even more to understand.

Jesus didn’t merely do something FOR us. Through faith, we have been united WITH Him.

Because we are united with Christ:

✝️ His death changed our relationship to sin.
✝️ His burial reminds us that the old life no longer defines us.
✝️ His resurrection means we have been called to walk in newness of life.

Grace doesn’t simply change where we’re going when we die. **Grace changes who we are and how we live right now.

Your past may be part of your story, but it is no longer the source of your identity.

You belong to Jesus.

✝️ GRACE IS NEVER AN EXCUSE TO SIN!

Last week, we celebrated the incredible truth of Romans 5 where sin increased, grace increased even more!

But that raises an important question:

**If God’s grace is greater than all our sin, does grace give us permission to keep sinning?**

Paul’s answer in Romans 6:1–2 could not be stronger:

**“Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it?”**

Grace is amazing. Grace forgives. Grace rescues. **Grace frees.** But grace is never permission to return comfortably to the very thing Jesus came to rescue us from.

There is a difference between **falling into sin** and wanting to **continue living under sin’s rule**. The Christian life is not about asking, *“How much sin can I get away with and still be forgiven?”* Instead, grace changes the question:

**“If Jesus rescued me from this, why would I want to go back?”**

When we come to Christ, our relationship with sin changes. We belong to **another King and another Kingdom.** Sin may still tempt us, old desires may still show up, and old habits may still call our names—but **sin is no longer our master.**

Don’t mistake God’s grace for permission to wear the chains again.**

✝️ GRACE HAS THE FINAL WORD!

Pastor Dennis reminded us that sin has done tremendous damage in our world. It has broken families, destroyed lives, filled hospitals and cemeteries, and most importantly, separated humanity from God.

But sin does NOT have the final word!

In Romans 5:18–21, Paul gives us one of the greatest declarations of hope in all of Scripture:

“But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more.” — Romans 5:20

Through Adam came sin, condemnation, and death. But through Jesus Christ came grace, justification, and LIFE!

No matter how deep your sin, God's grace goes deeper.
No matter how dark your past, God's grace shines brighter.
No matter how many your failures, God's grace is greater still.

Your sin may be great—but GOD'S GRACE IS GREATER!

The Tale of Two Heads – Part 1 | Romans 5:12–17

Yesterday, Pastor Dennis continued our journey through the Book of Romans with a powerful message titled "The Tale of Two Heads – Part 1."

In Romans 5:12–17, we discovered that every person is represented by one of two men—Adam or Jesus Christ.

We learned:
🔹 How one act of Adam changed the course of human history.
🔹 Why sin and death entered the world.
🔹 What it means that Adam was our representative.
🔹 Why Jesus is the greater Adam, whose grace is far greater than Adam's failure.
🔹 How God's gift of righteousness is freely received—not earned.
🔹 And why your identity today is determined by who represents you.

One of the key truths from the message was:

"Genesis explains why we need the Gospel. Romans 5 explains why the Gospel is enough."

Because of Jesus...
✔️ The King has changed.
✔️ The Kingdom has changed.
✔️ Our standing has changed.
✔️ Our future has changed.

This week, Pastor Dennis continued our journey through the book of Romans with a powerful message from Romans 5:6–11 titled:

"The Radical Proof of Love: Dying for the Unlovely."

In a world where love is often earned and acceptance is based on performance, God's love stands in complete contrast. Romans 5 reminds us that Christ didn't wait until we had our lives together—He loved us while we were still helpless, ungodly, sinners, and even His enemies. The cross is the greatest proof that God's love is based on His grace, not our goodness.

**When life feels unstable, where do you stand?**

Romans 5:1-5

This past Sunday, Pastor Dennis reminded us that as followers of Christ, we have a firm foundation to stand on. Because of Jesus, we have **peace with God**, we **stand in His grace**, and we have a **hope that will never fail**. Even life's trials are used by God to strengthen our faith and shape us into the people He is calling us to be.
