Hazleton Lions Club hands out the Carl Wallen Scholarship Awards this evening at the Hazleton Elks Club
President Linnea DelFine would like to thank the senior art students and Ms Ward for attending our meeting this evening. I would also like to thank my fellow Lions in attendance for coming and showing their support to these students of the HASD. Finally thank you to the Elks for a place to have our meeting and for A&A Beaver Meadows for being our caterer for the good lasagna and salad for our dinner.
Good luck senior art students on your future endeavors.

Members of our club went to the VA in Wilkes Barre to give out donuts and spend time with the veterans. Great job guys!...

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our President and Founder, Nick, on being named a 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 by Lions Club International Foundation, one of the highest honors in humanitarian service!

This recognition reflects Nick’s unwavering commitment to carrying Abby’s light forward by supporting young adults facing cancer through care packages, resources, advocacy, and compassionate support during some of life’s hardest moments. Through Smiles for Abby, what began as unimaginable loss has grown into a mission that helps young adults and their families feel seen, supported, and a little less alone in their fight.

Nick’s leadership continues to turn grief into action and create meaningful impact within the young adult cancer community.

Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved honor. We are so grateful for his heart, his vision, and his dedication to this mission. 💛

And thank you to LCIF for this meaningful recognition and for the incredible work you do to serve our community.

Our race sponsors. Without these local businesses we would not be able to have a successful night at the races each year! Thank you!
This was also our first ever night at the races without our past president Lion Richard Hoody Piskel who was always the chairman of this event. He is dearly missed and it was not the same without him there but we hope he was proud of us.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our 17th annual night at the races!

Join us in honoring the life and legacy of Abby Valentine ❤️

Abby had a heart for helping others, and one of the causes closest to her while fighting leukemia was blood donation. In her memory, Hazleton Lions Club is hosting a community blood drive and would love for you to be a part of it.

📍 Holy Rosary Catholic Church – Social Hall
240 S Poplar Street, Hazleton, PA
📅 Friday, May 8, 2026
