Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001.

We remember the courage of first responders, the compassion of neighbors, and the strength of communities that came together in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

As we reflect on that day, may we never forget the importance of unity, service, compassion, and caring for one another.

We Remember. We Honor. We Will Never Forget.

Today, on International Day of Charity, we celebrate the power of generosity and the incredible difference that giving can make in the lives of others.

Here in Perry County and across Appalachia, we see every day how neighbors helping neighbors can strengthen our communities. Whether it’s giving financially, volunteering your time, donating resources, or simply showing up for someone in need—every act of kindness matters.

At the Perry County Community Foundation, we believe that when we give together, we create opportunities, strengthen our communities, and help build a brighter future for generations to come.

Today, we encourage you to find a way to give back. Support a local nonprofit, volunteer your time, make a donation, or simply lend a helping hand.

Small acts of generosity can create lasting change.

Happy International Day of Charity! Let’s continue to make a difference—right here at home.

We are excited to announce a brand new scholarship fund: the Regina Donour Memorial Scholarship Fund!

The Regina Donour Memorial Scholarship honors Ms. Donour’s legacy as a dedicated educator who inspired students through her passion for science, learning, and the natural world. She believed deeply in education, critical thinking, and the importance of encouraging young people, especially young women, to pursue their curiosity and find their voice in the classroom.
