Heads Up - Pine Tree Thinning on the Hospital Trails
Temporary Trail Closures Begin April 20 at Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center
NOTICE FOR PATRONS WHO ACCESS THE LIBRARY TRAIL FROM HOSPITAL TRAILS
“Temporary Trail Closures Begin April 20 at Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center
Hayward, WI - Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center will begin temporary trail closures on April 20, 2026, due to planned forest management work near the hospital trails.
Crews will thin red pine trees south of Indian School Lake and remove small areas of diseased trees to improve forest health and reduce pest spread.
For your safety:
· Stay out of all posted work areas
· Follow all closure signs
· Keep a safe distance from equipment and crews
Falling trees and limbs, along with limited visibility, make these areas dangerous. Only authorized personnel are allowed in active work zones.
Crews will also treat invasive buckthorn. Some stumps will be marked with blue dye—do not touch these stumps.
Trail access from the library entrance may be limited during this work. This is the first phase in a multi-phase clearing project. Tamarack Health will provide updates when trails reopen and when the remaining phases are scheduled to begin.
Closure notices will be posted at the trail areas and also at: tamarackhealth.org/patients-visitors/hospital-trails/
Tamarack Health thanks the community for helping keep everyone safe during this important work.”
Everyone is welcome to get outside and journey well through nature on our hospital trails.
