Hinton is an agency of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church and serves as a retreat and conference center where guests can come to retreat, reflect, and renew. We provide day meeting spaces, as well as overnight accommodations for groups of up to 200. t. Many guests come to make a difference in this rural community by participating in one or more of our mission outreach programs. These include making homes warmer, drier, and safer for our neighbors in need through our Safe & Healthy Home Repair ministry and firewood ministry. Our Ervin Sanctuary Trails and Gardens ministry offers guests and area residents opportunities for renewing mind, body, and soul on our 33-acre campus. In addition to our outreach programs, Hinton actively supports the three-county area of Clay and Cherokee counties in NC and Towns County, GA, through local partnerships and providing leadership training and mental health first aid training.
