Red Cedar River Carver's Guild The Red Cedar River Carver's Guild - Stimulating interest and developing the talents of the members in woodcarving and related arts.

We are a group of men and women that gather regularly to learn and teach woodcarving - we work primarily with hand chisels and knives on various projects, including birds, other animals, and caricatures. We are open to the public, and participate in community venues to teach and demonstrate carving. We are a 501 C 7 non-profit organization - we accept donations, but donations are not tax-deductible.

The Red Cedar River Carver's will be at Johnson's Wood Expo on September 11-12 - we will be doing beginner's wood carving on Friday from 9-5, and wood carving and soap carving for the kids on Saturday. Hope you will stop by and see us!

In carver Muk's own words of his work ....... "Hanuman. The monkey god is a symbol of strength, persistence, tenacity, courage and resourcefulness. From a block of basswood I used Puuoko sloyd knives and gouges. Again an exploratory project it’s no prior design, Hanuman is depicted as a Brahman, swinging his mace".
